We won without really getting out of second gear. There have been a few matches where we haven’t been fully on it but have still added a couple more to the score line. Next match we’ll need to be 100% at it but I’m confident we will be.

Until then, what a position to be in. It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed football this much.

Wow just can't believe the attacking power we now have another team just swept away. Rodriguez gets the headlines but everyone played well today aside from Mr Flappy in goal.

I was concerned when Richarlison went off but we have goals all over the pitch now and the movement going forward is excellent, suddenly the squad looks pretty decent.

....I’ve been on here a long, long time and like a broken record I’ve banged on about a lack of threat in the top third. I’m banging on no more, it’s what’s making the difference.

Mina, Rodriguez, Doucoure all terrific but I’m going for Iwobi. Understandably lambasted by many on here, some like @Groucho reckoned ‘there’s a player in there’.

Personally, I clung onto one magnificently clever pass Iwobi made in last season‘s Anfield Derby where he put Kean in on goal, but today there was a couple of more ‘that’ll do me” moments. I thought the little pass into Doucoure for Rodriguez’s 2nd goal was better than his cross for the first. in that moment he showed great vision and composure to wait and then ignore the overlap of Digne.

Iwobi, perhaps there’s a player in there.
If there is then he is deep undercover Eggs.

We seem to see eye to eye on most things football but we digress here. I see Iwobi as a player with no pace who can’t take a man on and Gordon for me offers something more direct and dynamic.

If anyone can bring Iwobi to peak potential though it is Carlo.

A day to stand up and be counted.
Tom Davies I thought was excellent in the Allan role, first time I’ve seen him want to tackle and do it competently. Little bit out of sorts at RB but not helped by a listless Walcott ahead of him.

Iwobi did a job tbf to him.

I said James would win us the game and make Solly March look ordinary while doing it and he did, dreamland that he is at Everton.

but Yerry Mina my lord. Imperial performance.

Should have been to nil would feel very hard done by for no clean sheet if you were part of the back four today.

Hand it over rs
