We had Davies at full back, no Richarlison, Coleman, Allan or Gomes, and some slight complacency set in at 4-1. And Pickford was a complete mess.

Carlo will probably be angry, but we've had bigger problems recently!

The issue is injuries now. Let's hope we get good news. Or a surprise on Monday.

I agree mate. Extenuating circumstances!

Made up with the win, resounding considering the important players we had missing.

I think in the space of a few minutes you saw issues with our current squad that need addressing over time. The strength in depth as Richarlison went off and the goalkeeping situation. Pickford is all over the place, we need someone competent in place before he costs us.

I went with Mina as MotM, his goal gave us back the lead at an important time in the game and he made several crucial blocks in the second half. Rodriguez is obviously fantastic, everyone but the goalkeeper and Walcott put a decent shift in at the least.

At the start of the game I was thinking how much I'll miss us playing during the international break. Now I'm just pleased and hopeful of getting everyone back fit before the next game. From then on we only play once a week until the Christmas period thankfully.

Good times!

Good win considering the amount of games we have played recently and the injuries. DCL, James, Doucoure and Mina were immense. We did say back in the second half but it was understandable. Pickford still a concern but this is as good a run as I can remember since Bobby was here first season.

I went for James purely because, I do believe he hasn't had a GOT MOtM yet, and if 2 goals and assist wont do it over a defender that conceded 2 he may as well forget ever getting one :)

Voted James, but actually think Mina (just) ;)

Ian Darke there when Rodriguez scores his first in the game “and Rodriguez gets his first Goodison Park goal”

Seriously? Doe these ‘football’ people ever do their research or know their stuff?

Its a class of people, that really don't give a shhhh.

Carlo on today, injuries (Coleman and Richie and Pickford...

INJURIES

"Small injury, I think, (Coleman)
Richarlison had the same problem that he had against West Ham in the [Carabao] Cup," he said.

"So we have 15 days to recover them and I think we will be able to do so.

TODAY'S GAME

"We are really pleased for the start, we did really well this period, winning games, showing good quality, the spirit is good," Ancelotti said.

Ancelotti has inspired Everton to seven successive wins this season in all competitions

"But it is only the start of the season. Now there is the international break and we can have rest. It was a busy time and we have to come back with the same spirit and attitude.

"In general the attacking football was good, we had opportunities and we were really clinical on set-pieces, really good on the counter-attack, we played a complete game.

"When we defended with the low block we were in a good position, we defended well and so I am pleased."

JORDAN

"He did a mistake but nothing happened, we have three points more and this is the most important part," Ancelotti added.

"This is not the right place to talk about Pickford, if I have to say something to him when he comes back (from international duty) I will talk to him."

Horses head in pickfords bed by the sounds of things ... mind you abusing horses is a hobbie where Pickford comes from isn’t it? Might not get the message

I don't understand I was lead to believe by the media that Brighton where some form of hybrid ultra combo of the 74' Holland team and the 09' barca side.

Imagine my surprise when they turned out to be 3 at the back stoke who cared more about booting richarlison off the pitch then playing football.

I honestly don't understand why we're not getting anywhere near the plaudits we deserve for how we've been playing and the form we've been in. Yet pulis fc who are on 3 points after 4 games are being talked up like they are going to win the quadruple.
We're flying under the radar...and long may it continue.

51 yrs ago the fledgling rsBC...or the BBC as they still try to call themselves...managed to clear their heads from their rs, manu, leeds fap fest and actually looked around at what was going on...which was we were running away with the league.
So they had David (sports night with) Coleman do an in depth mid week special with Harry Catterick.

Poor totally media un-savvy Harry, possibly seduced by the glamour...let his mouth run away with him and laid bare the whole way we play...just explain for the viewers at home how you do this...shows clip, and that...shows other clip...and the how the midfield works...shows clip...etc blah, blah.
for all I know he may have even fell for the old... we're off the air now...you ssy youre not perfect, how so, whats this about Brown being the weakest link...shows clip.
This of course did Sandy no good in the confidence stakes, which the OG just compounded, we had to go out and buy another LB sharpish - Keith Newton.

Harry was livid and never a fan of TV, more or less banned the BBC...which is why there is hardly any footage...yet footage abounds of media darlings rs and leeds
leeds won nothing that season, we had the Holy Trinity, yet that little snidey shight Bremner was footballer of the year.

Agreed with everything until the Walcott bit. He did precisely the opposite of what you write: there was no effort, It was make-believe, ran around, lost the ball, no pressing - he was nearest to the goalscorer but stood off - a standard Walcott semi-detached game. Collect the wages. Check the pension plan. Get a nice massage on monday and 5-a side on Tuesday. Repeat till contract ends. The Walcott Way.

Right now we got a bit of everything.
We can play from the back, drop deep, ball retention, high pressing and counter attack.

Opponent can pass the ball around all day and we didn't give a damn.
We play catenaccio football and we score when we want lol
