Seriously, what are the pros of keeping Lampard in charge?
There aren't any sadly he's s gone backwards as a manager. We will be his last serious job before he becomes a pundit. We have to do something ASAP otherwise we will be relegated. Sean Dyche would probably be the best chance although he's not my cup of tea. We have just gone round in circles since Allardyce and dyche would be the new big Sam. What a club this is. Frank needs to go direct second half get the big lads causing havoc in there box, wouldn't take much to knock them out of there stride. Sadly he won't adopt that method instead will take mcneil off for Gordon and we just keep doing the same until they kill the game.

just did a quick peruse of the latter pages of this thread...thought we must have been a few goals down judging from the tone. Make it to the dressing room still only 1-0 down and Everton can turn it around. I do sense however, that the ailment that plagues so many of our squad is striking again...so many players (and staff) look terribly homesick, absolutely miserable. Back in the 70s when, on a camping holiday with my then mate Ross Pottinger, I had to endure a Niagara of homesickness tears from him, I never thought some 50 years later, I'd be supporting a team suffering the same debilitation. Back in the day I simply told Potty to man up and stop being a big girl's blouse. One cannot say such things these days, where people's feelings come ahead of everything.
Anyway, still feel we can finish maybe 17th this season...so there'll be plenty to cheer and celebrate then!

NSNO

P.S. I'm about to set off for a few days at the beach...stay well everybody!

I expect it was changed because Godfrey couldn’t play again

This is also a game at home where we should be going for a win so setting up with five at the back without Onana to carry the ball in midfield (Davies and Doucoure aren’t that player) would limit our attacking options
I’m sorry mate, but what attacking options are they? We have the worst attacking options in the league.

We don’t win games by swarming teams up top, we win (theoretically, at least - it’s been a while) by keeping it tight and nicking one.

We’ve got Mina, Godfrey himself and Coleman on the bench. Any one of those could have slotted in at CB and we could have kept them at bay a lot easier. We could have put Maupay or Simms up with Dom and gone direct for a different approach.

Time, time and time again we watch middling teams create chances against us by cutting us open at will and we point blank refuse to play extra defenders because heaven forbid the fans miss out on the samba football we’re serving up weekly!!

There isn’t a single argument in favour of Lampard beyond “we can’t keep changing managers!”

Spoiler: We can. Change them until we get a good one. Right now I’d settle for only half crap.

Familiar story, chances created, chances wasted, oppo take their chance rinse repeat. That’s the big reason we have only 3 wins and why the manager will likely die on his sword while the players get a get out of jail card for the next numbnuts dumb enough to take the job and the brain trust above do absolutely Jack all

Yep, we must be the only club who follow this absurd policy year after year (I know we signed Onana, btw) and not only follow it but get dimwitted fans on forums not only parroting it but claiming it is the right strategy. Drives me nuts.
Clubs have moved past the whole PL experience thing and are now investing in young talent abroad whilst we are still stuck in the old way of doing things, it’s catching up fast and we’ll be in the Championship because of it.
