If almost like people have forgotten this squad almost went down last season, and Brighton apparently are the second coming of the 1970 Brazil team if you believe this forum managed by a manager who makes no mistakes and is one step ahead of everyone else in football. Is Dyche supposed to be so good that he just batters them (for the second game in a row?) and if he doesn’t he gets a load of pelters for being crap?
He absolutely surrendered the midfield to Adam Llalana, Christian Gross and Billy Gilmor. 80% possession? Naw.

dyche thinks we can just grind out results we can’t do it every game backs to the wall invites pressure

which leads
to goals
In the past 5 matches doing it opposing players have scored 1 goal from play. Other than that its been an own goal, and a penalty. The only one scored by an opposing player from play was when it was 10v11. Without a freak own goal its 4 clean sheets in 5, so I think most would view it working pretty well.

4 points from the last two games is more than a decent return, when I didn’t expect any. However once again we come away from the game thinking…..if only.
Hindsight is a great thing, but the midweek game and the amount of time today without possession today, meant tiredness was always going to happen second half. No doubt about it, the subs should have been made earlier, but dyche would have been thinking don’t change anything whilst we were winning. But sometime you have to be proactive rather than reactive and that was the case today.

I know all the noise will be about Young. Patterson came on and immediately got skinned by Mitoma. Harrison was badly at fault for the goal. Sold himself way too easy

A bit frustrating to be close to a win and concede an OG but grinding out points against better opposition has to be our approach with the poor squad we have currently have.
I think Dyche has improved our shape but he needs to focus players on retention of the ball when we do manage to get hold of it. We coughed up possession so quickly in the second half and the front 6 could have done much better to help us get a foothold in that half.

The only thing I will give Dyche is that with just 1 injury we have no midfielders able to to come off the bench.

That's not on the manager.

….was thinking exactly the same, especially with the Gueye booking. We have no depth in CM or CB, we’ll have to make do on days like today.

Actually thought Dyche did very well. I laugh when posters complain about the possession stats as though it’s tactical, it’s about quality and they have better quality than us. Despite that, they had very few chances so we were tactically sound. From an attacking perspective, DCL generally had support and players joining in.

The goal was just so unfortunate but the result was probably about right.

Seeing the stills online, I think we got away with that offside goal from Dunk. About time a call went our way, so I don’t care.

I’m not sure it backs up some of the calls about us not letting them create anything though.
