Not the Gomes one though. I think most felt the obvious one was flat back four and push a partner up front for Richarlison.

I agree but Gomes seemed much better tonight, movement was good and creating space in midfield.

Really poor before goal. But really enjoyable to watch from Keane goal onwards. Doucoure was immense. Pressing the ball. Great finish from Townsend and gray.well done gomes. Think he can offer something from bench

This feels so similar to the start last season….manager made game winning changes and we looked good, actual we looked unreal last season.

Imagine if we'd have been halfway decent in the first half - what a Jekyll and Hyde performance.

Doucoure was outstanding in that 2nd half. Covered every blade of grass and that through ball for Gray was amazing ?. Gomes made a big impact when he came on.

Townsend had a much better 2nd half and an unbelievable strike for his goal. Pickford was pretty solid.

Gomes looking like a plausible player again (except in front of goal) but some good work from him

I've noticed he always looks great when coming on as a sub to do that exact job. He's very good on the ball when we're in possession and confidence is high.

Unfortunately though he never delivers when he starts it seems.
