Benitez proved unequivocally he's the man. The line up/formation/start was bad but we got lucky and come back. Must have scored 4 in about 7 minutes (1 disallowed). Remarkable.

In part yes, but Raphael taking over from Ancelotti is the key. Couple of gem signings and the ability to get one time dross looking like world beaters.

I agree but Gomes seemed much better tonight, movement was good and creating space in midfield.

Could have scored as well.......

I thought bringing Gomes on was a weird choice but with Allan sitting back and Doucoure able to keep pushing forward, it just allowed him to control and move the ball. Real shame he didn't make it 4 but showed signs of getting back to what we have been expecting.

Townsend is like the exact opposite of Walcott: no speed but very solid end product.

the work rate is fantastic but the skill behind that goal is phenomenal, the more you watch that the better and better it gets

We never saw that last season. Great changes by Rafael despite we had just gone level, stuck to his guns and made the change we needed.

Gomes come on, played great other than his shooting, Doucs was released. It’s been a quite a while since I’ve seen Everton have a rampant 10 minute spell like that.
