Realistic take.

If we get a points deduction we'll likely need 50 points this season to stay up...last 2 seasons = 39 and 36 points.

But if you think getting through the next round of a three handled cup is more important than preserving players for the biggest fight in Everton's history, be my guest.

IF we get a points deduction, we will not be getting a 12 point deduction.

even if we did, no team with any pride whatsoever should ever throw a game.

Fans aren't daft. If we played a weakened team and went out they'd understand.

Preserve our best 11 for the stiff challenge of Brighton...who have no game midweek and can rest up.
Bring back the days when winning a trophy was the aim each season and not just retain PL status.

A generation of our fans have never seen us do that I have and I know what it feels like! It’s much better than 3 points on a Saturday

Meaningless this.

Just play a weakened team and hand the result to Burnley.

We might need 50 points just to survive this season and we've only got 10 of them with 10 games played.
If we ever want to improve as a club and have the right sort of mentality in the dressing room, then the next match needs to always be the most important match.

The idea of throwing games away should be absolutely unacceptable at a club of our size, especially in front of a sold out Goodison.

This not the right time.

As I said: it could well be we need 50 points this season.

If we start to carry injuries we get nowhere near it.
50 points is assuming a 12 point deduction, you have said yourself on the FFP thread that this won't happen.. all in for the cup until any punishment is known which should be soon, then we can start throwing cup games should we need to keep players fit and away from suspension.

35 is generally the number you need to survive these days. We need to be aiming for the low 40 points, that would be improvement on the last two seasons.

Nah Dave, keep the winning streak going mate. as you well know, it needs to become a habit and if that streak includes cup games then all well and good.

Don't need to play a weakened side, we can rotate a bit if needed and we have the use of 5 subs. There's no extra time if it's a draw and I'd like us to take the opportunity to get into the last 8. If we come up against a tougher opponent away from home in the next round and we lose, so be it but I'm not prepared to lose to Burnley at Goodison Park.

You have been sayin we won't get a deduction as its click bait by the Telegraph with their article

Now you are saying its looking likely we get a 12 point deduction.
So aren't you just just as bad at that article then?

What a parody .

….I know we lost after beating Villa in the last round but I really don’t think it’s an either/or scenario.

I expect and hope the team is relatively unchanged tonight.
