If you think its as simple as "I think Osmans not very good, so he shouldnt start" then you either don't know much about football in general or don't know much about the way we play and the type of players needed. Also that he has to pick a TEAM to function together whether defending or attacking not just who you guys think are the best players.

If I was Barkley's agent I would be waiting to see if he plays in the world Cup and if so his performance - if he goes and does well he should be able to get a much better deal out of Everton.

Why are people writing about people being disappointing with the Barkley Osman choice? It's not the first time he has done this and we have had are arses bitten notably Palace away and Sunderland home. You can shove your patience, all that matters is this 3 points today and then the same next week and so on.

Mate I try and see the best in every player, but I've had enough of Osman. I've watched him, like all of us, for over a decade so I bloody know what he does and doesn't do.

He is poor defensively, he is weak, fragile and I recall a statistic from a while ago that said he was the most dribbled past player in the entire league. That's appalling.

He has qualities, fair enough. Hyperbole aside he can pick a decent pass and has always scored goals, even if he misses many, many more chances with his powderpuff shots. But too often he's the weak link and his inconsistency is painful. We need better.

G'won then, what does he offer?

So far this season Osman has 2 goals and 3 assists to Ross' 3 goals and no assists. Osman has played in one fewer game than Barkley this season.

The bench is awful though.

I actually think Osman will do ok against these mid-lower table teams.
