....not sure about Barkley's effectiveness coming off the bench. You folk might have examples, but he doesn't seem the type who gets immediately into a game. Big lad, perhaps it takes him time to get up to speed. We'll see.

Agreed.

Whereas Osman has been not too bad coming in off the bench.

Really pleased to see that nasty piece of work Ramirez getting sent off for Chelsea. What a meltdown by that team. Reflects the mental instability of their manager lol. This league is one where NO game can taken for granted....so a GREAT 3 points for our mighty Everton!

Villa 1 - 0 Chelski

Also teams at the bottom are fighting for prem survival.. made up for those 3 victories v AV, WHU, and Cardiff
Now not far away from our points total last season... COYB !!

I must have watched a completely different game then mate.

Don't remember too many stand out moments in that game but until around 50 mins, Ossy hadn't made any stand out poor errors for me, nearly scored on the half volley and set up a lovely move with a backheel to Baines, was doing lovely short passing and was finding his way out of some very tightly marked situations. Can't see what he did that was that bad.
50/60 mins + should of been taken off mind you, puffing hard after that and started making mistakes.

Thought overall we looked good going forwards and in defense, set pieces in either direction let us down a bit though. Baines needs to get his assist mojo back on, not that he couldn't of had several today if it wasn't for some bad luck, air shots and quality keeping at the end of his crosses mind.

i think everton fans look for a bit more than "hadn't made any stand out poor errors" from their certain mate. he just did a job in the first half, didn't do anything of note.

but in the second half he was annonymous and whenever the ball did get to him, it was lost in an instance. no idea why he starts tbh, don't hate him like some on here, just don't think he should be playing more than 20 mins a game for us. he should be behind barkley and naismith in that position (the only one he should be playing for us from now on) on current form and based on this season as a whole.

What do you mean? What are you referring to?

There were two things that wound me up. Firstly, the double change right after we scored, I thought was unnecessary. I'd have liked to have seen us hold off on the change, or at least keep Deulofeu on for 5-10 mins and see if we could try and take advantage while our tails were up. I thought that change, if anything, killed our momentum a little. Deulofeu hadn't been great, but he'd been the difference and I think he was right to be disappointed to come off immediately after scoring.

Then, leaving Osman on until the 81st minute was a big mistake. As I've said I found it baffling. He hadn't had an excellent game or anything. He'd been okay and he his legs had completely gone going into the last 20 mins. He wasn't looking crucial to us scoring at that point. Barkley was ready to come on at 70 mins.
