Good feeling not knowing who to go for in the MOTM poll. The whole defence was superb but Holgate and Godfrey deserve special mention as they were playing out of position. Allan was perfect and I thought Dom was excellent.
Everyone put in a shift which is always good to see although it should be a minimum requirement tbh.

Returning to a back 4 was probably fundamental as everyone looks so much more comfortable and clear about what's going on around them. Not just the defenders but the midfielders too. Must have helped that Holgate is up to speed with his match fitness and Godfrey knows his team mates better now.

Keep it up blues. Please.

I just watched the game. These are my slightly drunk thoughts. In my mind, Iwobi has grown a bit in confidence over the last game or two. He didn't mess up (which is an improvement, sadly). Doucoure was completely absent, but I haven't written him off like others; I have hope. SIggy was pretty decent and if we lost, he and Doucore would be slagged as usual. Keane and Godfrey had great games, and Pickford was quite sharp. DCL is boss for both his work-ethic and positional sense. I was pleased to see a back 4 and some confidence in the formation--it showed in play today. None of these thoughts are particularly novel or insightful on my part.

Stop predicting we will lose lads. What good does it do? Doesn’t matter if it’s what you think/worried will happen. We need to get out of this. Hard I know.

looks like we have woke up just in time for the quarter final coming up. Maybe a semi or a final or maybe a cup would nock us out of this dark energy we carry for so long.

Does anybody reckon Carlo let Dunc get a bit more involved for this game as it was a replica of the fixture when Ferguson took over last year. We badly needed a result and it was blood and guts every man fighting for the shirt and each other just like the same fixture last time.

I also noticed Dunc in his ear more often.
