The Andre Gomes dilemma, probably looks class in training compared to our other midfielders who can't pass 10 yards ahead of them.

Get him on the pitch against an actual opposition who press and don't give him time on the ball and then Gomes compared to the opposition looks like the rest of our lot compared to him, crap.

Frank has written his own P45 there tonight with his selection of Gomes. I was worried about his comments on there being an "onus" on us to play higher up the pitch, but gave him the benefit of the doubt. That's gone now with the idiotic inclusion of Gomes. You've got to help yourself in these situations, and I don't think Lampard has done that tonight when we really needed him to.

Managers live and die by decisions like this. If Gomes comes up trumps, Frank is a sage. But I suspect that it'll go the other way if the evidence before our eyes over the last few years is anything to go by. If ordinary fans can see it, why can't the manager? If we are right, well, it doesn't bear thinking about...
