For me that’s the infuriating side of Dyche. He seems to be a stubborn fecker. The first half performance was enough to change the system. Taking Harrison and DCL off was wrong imo. There was no service for DCL and Harrison was one of the better performances. Should’ve put Godfrey at LB and go 442. Gueye taking pen. Fair play for stepping up but was there nobody else.
Fulham were really poor. We’ve gifted them the semi final there. Really disappointing and tbh as good as Dyche has done with team spirit etc there will always be this inability to see the changes needed that will always hang over him.
Agree with all that except I disagree with the fair play to Gueye for stepping up. He looked terrified as he walked to the penalty spot so he clearly shouldn't have been taking it. Even Pickford would have been a better option. As for Onana. Brainless to let him take #5 with a dead ball specialist waiting in the wings plus the juice of Tarkowski.

Sat in the car trying to get out of Stanley Park. Lack of energy and urgency I thought from the off, which surprised me.
Had an uneasy feeling about tonight’s game and so it proved. They are playing much better than when we list to them at goodison, but you’re right instead of starting the game on the front foot, we were lethargic. Another missed opportunity in a competition we seem cursed in.

Can’t argue with that. If we ever get lucky enough to sell Onana for at least what we’ve paid for him I would bite their hand off. I’m amazed at the sums quoted for him. Hasn’t shown anywhere near enough to deserve it.

We’ve had a ten point deduction and have a paper thin squad. We are not out of the woods yet and only a couple of key injuries away from the pits again. Also We’ve come close to winning one trophy in 28 years so if you are all narky over a cup exit then I think you need to get some perspective.
Potentially a good a chance as any year to go on and win something…. Something the fans desperately need. So yes, gutted and upset that we are not moving on in the cup.

No perspective needed… yes we have been good the last 4 games but easiest home game we have had for a few weeks and we bottle it…. More like Onana has bottled it.

We didn't adapt to the windy conditions at all tonight. Pickford, Tarkowski and Keane guilty of over hitting everything due to the wind. Pickford was still doing it after 82 minutes and blaming the wind.....well yeah mate it hadn't changed from minute 1.

BUT

Apart from the last 10 minutes (where we were really poor and run ragged) we kept pushing and probing and deserved our equaliser.

I'm trying to look for positives but I'm just sick of moments like tonight when you feel we've got a chance to make a step in the right direction and something or someone just absolutely screws it up. Just absolutely sick of it happening.

I haven't voted tonight because I have no idea who deserved it.

It was a tight game that could have gone either way.

Many of our players were below par (with passing) but we still contained them but just didn't produce enough ourselves.

I would say 1-1 was fair enough but we lost a shoot out

just so used to it by now

always some bad luck or arrogant bell or poor officiating ruining any chance to win something
