We’ve been playing dreadful football virtually all season though, even when we win. Apart from the first 4 games of the season when have we been actually entertaining other than the Spurs win? (which frankly was more due to them self-destructing big time)

There’s no hiding from how poor and boring we’ve been after those first 4 games. Our only wins have come when we get behind the ball and nick a goal or two. Even Rotherham out played us. We can only play one way that gets results and it’s an awful way to play football.

We haven't been dreadful at all.

Leicester away was an excellent performance. the first half v Arsenal we played some very good stuff. First half v Fulham too. The Leeds away game, the Wolves away game.

Completely revisionist statement from yourself there.

It's just when we're bad, we're very, very bad, and when we have our good spells, we don't create enough clear chances to put games to bed and get us out of sight before the issues creep in again.

Not having the tiredness issue either

What a load of tosh. Good teams find ways to compete and win. Losers find excuses and moan about tiredness. We are abject losers it seems.

I mean tiredness is a reason, but we didnt lose tonight through tiredness. If we had a go and ran out of steam the last 20, you can sort of see its tiredness.

Like you rightly said on your last post, the whole team looked baffled from start to finish.

At one point, he seemed to have a midfield 3 of Gomes, James and Sigurdsson, with Doucoure playing right wing. Reminded me of Newcastle.

I love the man, but he over complicated the very simple tonight.

I've said it to my lad, what neutral would watch our games? We're one of the dullest teams in the league a lot of the time.

we literally just won one of the classic FA Cup ties 5-4 with everyone raving about what a game it was for the neutral and the other day had a 3-3 draw at Utd and the game before that our win over Leeds was full throttle.

All of that has nothing to do with Carlo picking a crap team tonight, though.

There's just no defending him tonight.

That tonight was as bad a managerial performance as I saw under Koeman, Fat Sam or Silva.

Now that doesn't mean I am turning on Carlo. It doesn't mean I'm not thrilled that we've got him. It does mean that he has to do better though. It was outrageously bad.

We needed to beat Fulham. That's all that mattered.

He played a team that couldn't beat a pub side.

We weren't crippled by injuries or suspensions. We had one regular starter out.

Keep things simple and this team does okay. Overcomplicate it, and it doesn't - and yes, a big part of that is a fair chunk of the players not being up to scratch.

But there's zero difference from Carlo playing five central midfielders in the same team than there was with Koeman playing 4 number 10s in his front fours.

Carlo Koeman today...

Richy isn’t fast......
This season Richy hasn’t really been anything.
If Barcelona are really going to pay silly money for him we should be grabbing it. He doesn’t have a single stand out attribute and when the chips are down - I think - he lacks a bit of bottle. He looked a better player when we first signed him from Watford. At the moment he looks like he lost 2 yards of pace and like I said he wasn’t fast in the first place

Jesus Christ...im going to bed.

Spot on. And by doing so, negated our only player with thrust up top and our only midfielder capable of being a runner - which if you play an Xmas tree system, you have to have 2-3 runners.

Coleman shouldn't start games. He's useful to bring on. That's it.

You can't play Gylfi and James in the same position on the pitch, not when Gomes is behind them.

He's cost us tonight, and the players aren't good enough for him to mess about like that.

That’s bollocks though. Against Wolves we had 2 good attacks, the rest of the game we were sat in our own box, against Leicester we had about 20% possession both games, the Leeds away game we good for about 20-30 mins and got battered in the second half, and against Fulham we were good for a half, today we’ve been battered by them. If you were a neutral would you ever watch us? We play the ugliest brand of football in the league right now, and that is a fact.

I imagine the riot act has been read to the players after that performance and carlo will expect a better performance on Wednesday night against city

That's what drives me crazy. Go down two goals and still don't start trying to play in their half until 75 mins. We gave up two goals and there was still no urgency and no desire to cross the halfway line. They just kept passing it around the back and then back to Olsen who would kick it to Fulham.
we still did that but hoofed it in the box instead

Before that game the guys in the studio basically apologised in advance for the dire game Spurs and Everton were about to serve up. Then Spurs decided to go gung hi and leave us all manner of space, resulting in a very entertaining game. We have served up some dire stuff this season, but there are enough glimpses to say that with 3 or 4 new players Ancelotti can improve it.
