Doucoure is a big asset for us as he was last season. It baffles me that people focus on errant passes. If we were in the business of possession based football I'd understand, but we're not.
If he doesn't score or assist the boo boys are out and refuse to look at his general play with anything other than premeditated bias. People don't like being wrong.

That's exactly what it is.

If we were linked with a player like Doucoure now most people would be happy with that.

His goals later in the season were a much needed contribution to keep us alive, but scrutiny of his errant passes is not overly critical, he routinely derailed offensive breaks because he would botch simple passes and send them right to the opposing team, we also conceded goals because of wild passing. I'm nor expecting him to be prime pirlo just pass the ball 5 feet forward to an open everton player.

As I've said before mate, if we were a team that passed the ball around a lot then there'd be no place for Doucoure. But we're not. We need a MF who can get around the pitch doing bits and pieces getting a foot in here and there and get up into the opposition box and make a nuisance of himself and try and grab a goal.

That's what he does.

If we didn't have Doucoure I'd be concerned, let's put it that way.
