We created some really good chances, which is a big plus, but not finishing them is a big negative. We generally looked solid in defence which again is a big plus. For their goa,l I thought Garner could/should have got back quicker in the build up, and may have been in a position to block the ball going to their scorer. He's a good signing and it's something he'll work on. Overall, it was an encouraging perfoemane but disappointing result.

Groundhog Day for Everton featured woeful finishing, a defensive lapse ruthlessly punished, a third consecutive win at Goodison Park for Fulham and disbelief over the club’s ongoing failure to strengthen its forward options sufficiently. Post-match talk of things looking up once Dominic Calvert-Lewin is fit was another worrying sign of Everton failing to learn lessons. Calvert-Lewin could have been the difference between defeat and victory on the opening day but after two years of varying injury setbacks the centre-forward’s availability should be considered a bonus rather than the foundation for progress. The contrast in attacking options available to Dyche and Marco Silva also needs addressing by Everton. The supporting cast for Neal Maupay were all central midfielders. Fulham introduced Aleksandar Mitrovic, Andreas Pereira and Bobby De Cordova-Reid for Raúl Jiménez, Tom Cairney and Willian respectively and reaped the reward of three undeserved but gratefully received points. Still loads of time to vote folks... given we suffered a faux-pas with the original poll... please make sure you've voted in this one above ;) ;)

We couldn’t score in a brothel lads…
Absolutely brilliant post.
Fulham will be mid-ish table, maybe 10-12 and we played very well and should've beat them.

We failed in the examples above to convert that superiority in the game. Plus the goalie landing on Tarks isn't a foul, but they don't want every play standing under keepers going forward.

Keep the faith. That performance beats Sheff, Burnley, Luton, Bournemouth, and I reckon Forest too. We'll be 16th and a step closer to BD. Thanks Sean, keep the heads up.

THELWELL BUY A STRIKER YOU FRAUD.
