It was unbelievable how many good chances we wasted! But it is encouraging that we created those chances. Never start Maupay again, and get the rest of them spending extra time in training practicing shooting! Composure is harder to learn, but they should all have much better technique when it comes to taking good chances.

I don't think anyone is saying we are already relegated but it all just feels very familiar after 2 very disappointing seasons.
We will lose more than we'll win this season but on paper this was a game we should have been getting something from.
We know how fragile the confidence of the players is, a couple more bad results and it will already feel like we are right back in the thick of it.
ultimately it will be a struggle because our players are not good enough with the ball and are seemingly only capable of counter attacking at speed but the cry arsing on here is pathetic and unfortunately all too common with the amount of entitled keyboard ferrets there are nowadays (not being personal btw but the hysteria is comical) some of which display as much understanding of the game as a toddler trying to read “a brief history of time”. That was daylight robbery yesterday, it happens in football. It’s the FIRST game of 38, let’s see where we are after 10 and that will be a far better gauge of whereabouts the club will be at the end. Of course it’s not ideal but that’s where the club is due to vast and sheer incompetence over years and years.
Anyways, you should be more concerned with getting Silksong finished !

The result aside, I thought it was quite an enjoyable game. There was a good positive energy about the team going forward and our defence coped well for the most part. Be interesting to see if the players can maintain those levels throughout the season.

I thought we played reasonably well for the most part of the game especially in the first half.Fulham though were very poor and will definitely be in the bottom half this season.
As you say we lack composure in front of goal but not just getting a shot away also as professional footballers they should have more awareness of teammates in a better position rather than trying to shoot through a brick wall.
