Everton v Huddersfield Town - Preview

I thought the lads put in a good shift today. Just lacked the quality in the end to get the result but with Bernard, richarlison and gomes to come in hopefully they will make the difference in the future.

Huddersfield go down, worst team to come to Goodison in the league for some time.

Alternatively, gotta find more creativity to outsmart a back 9 really, everything was predictable. Doesn't help having DCL looking lost on the wing and no real ball player deeper in the middle.

Baffling subs

I can't agree with that. They had all the space in the middle and broke with threat and speed. Any high ball and they won a good majority and also the second ball. I thought they looked more of a threat than we ever did. Huddersfield had a plan and executed it very well and we were found wanting. We had 3 players today (Seamus, Holgate and Davies) who haven't got a decent pass in there locker or should I say more accurately that they are not good passers at all which is a problem for us.

Disappointing, but our squad isn't as strong in midfield and forward areas as people think it is. With so many out we lacked the guile today. We had no other choice in central midfield today and no natural fit on the left. Confident we will be alright when everyone is fit. We do need to cut out mistakes at the back though.

Just woke up and having had a few hours (4 tbe) to sleep on the result i’m Just a little ‘meh’ at the result. We were poor but what else is new? The team has players who just aren’t very good at football and others who can only play decently on occasion. We’ll finish 7-10th...meh

They weren't a threat on the break at all pal, look at the game, all their strengths came from set pieces and giant throws. They executed their plan well but I dont think i've seen a more negative team come to goodison for quite some time.

Agree with regards to decent passers. We lacked urgency, creativity and a bit of spark today.

How do you work that one out then? HTFC were the better side for most of the game and especially the second half. You had one shot on goal, we had six, you were poor and offered hardly anything. You wanted Allardyce out, you got it, you wanted Silva in, you got it and now you expect to be beating teams like Huddersfield because you're a "big club". Wagner did a job on Silva today, who by the way is a complete fraud and no doubt you'll have hounded him out by the end of the season. The arrogance of some of the bigger clubs towards the smaller ones is embarrassing, 38,000 people in the ground and you only made some noise when you scored. HTFC have upset the apple cart a lot over the past two years and I'm pleased to see that we still are.

How were you the better team in the second half considering you didn't even try to score a second goal.

We were appalling. We were right there for the taking. But you didn't even have a go at us but instead tried to waste time.

We were absolute trash and a complete mess but your lot were more interested in time wasting. Bizarre.

Pointless quoting stats without context.

If you were at the match you would know you barely created any chances and had no shots of note, set piece goal aside.

We were just as crap as well like. Just couldn't break down your two banks of 5.

EVENING TERRIER

100% getting relegated this season mert.

You were comfortable all game against us, probably your easiest game this season I bet.

The boos where I was sat was for the ref from what I could make out. He blew for everything in the second half, for both sides, which totally disrupted play. Very poor. I don't think the boos were for the players.
Spot on, boo’s were for Huddersfield’s negativity and time-wasting and the refs acceptance of it. Silva walked halfway across the pitch to challenge him.
No boos for Everton as far as I could tell from the Paddock.

Shut up you knobhead

Silva won't be hounded out. Poor performance by us today but we move on and that's the end of that.

Good point for you and the vast majority will agree and say well done and a deserved point because we weren't good enough

Mate, if you’re happy to watch that week in week out then good luck. Time wasting after 3 minutes, feigning injury at every opportunity, content to sit and get a point and nothing else.....that’s anti-Football of the Pulis variety.
If you thought you were the better side for most of the game then perhaps you had an obstructed view, or maybe you’re just plain biased. If you finish outside the bottom 5 I’ll be amazed.
