What six goals We didnt even have 6 shots on goal.
6 goals is maybe an exaggeration, but there were two very good chances first half against Arsenal in particular (DCL and Doucoure), and against them we were the width of the post away from opening the scoring, which the way we set up is a whole different ball game. Plus Davies should have scored late on to at least make it nervy.

Need one of the midfield "Hardos" to throw an elbow or a crunching tackle in the first 2 minutes of the game. We have yet to set the tone in a premier league game this season. You never get red carded for the first foul, especially a game with so much on the line, the premier league wouldn't want it to be down to 10 men so early on.

We don't need a second striker. We just need the wide players and a midfielder to be willing to get up in support and run behind. That means we need high energy and lots of effort from those players

We aren't good enough to play 2 strikers in my opinion, nor do we have 2 good strikers.
I don’t think most combinations are anywhere near good enough, as we’re severely lacking in quality. 2 up top against a team that can’t defend probably isn’t a bad idea though. Thought Gray looked lively when he came on so perhaps start him.

Agreed. Maybe even a front three with Gray, Simms and Maupay. This won't be a low-scoring game and we can't simply sit back and hope to hit them on the counter. We need to put them under pressure from the off and we can't do that with only one up front.

Arsenal game: Calvert Lewin could have easily scored twice v Arsenal, Doucoure had a free header middle of the goal. If any of them even get any of those on target their goals given how good the chances were. Tarkowski also scored from a corner. So there’s 4 big opportunities.

Liverpool: Tarkwoski hits the post from a corner, Davies puts a free header over the bar when anything on target again probably goes in. 2 huge opportunities.

6 extremely good goalscoring chances across two games v top 6 opposition.

Gray has to start.

This is far far too important to be solely reliant on a possible set piece.

( This is a 'football' match in 21st century, and we only have 1 person Comfortable with the ball at his feet 🙄

The teams at the bottom all have difficult games this weekend, so a win would likely take us to16th. But then again they could all win, including Leeds. Not many pundits tipping us. Mind you, I don't suppose any tipped us against Arsenal either :coffee:

Is it still 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw?

Seen someone say we get 6 points if we win. Which I don’t believe has ever been the case (as far as I’m aware)

Thanks

Don't know if Mina is fit, but I'm hoping Sean Dyche makes a change or two for this one...

Doucoure has to have someone behind him in midfield. He's too positionally ill-disciplined. So rotate that a little so Onana is truly sitting behind Iwobi and Doucoure and you might have something. And for the love of God invert the wingers.

Plus an actual manager in charge rather than a cone layer. Raphinha starts for Barcelona now which none of their current attack would ever get near
That manager situation has to impact tomorrow.

United weren't at their best against Leeds in either game and a new manager in the dugout who the players know they have to impress would have seen them get more than 1 point from those games. They'll only play flat out for their new boss.

You do know this is Everton right? Soon to be in the record books as the team with the fastest prem red card with that strategy!

This game scares me the most, realistically the 3rd spot will be us or Leeds. If we lose to Leeds they have Southampton at home next whereas we are away to Arsenal. So you can see how this could go.....

Just cant shake this feeling this year, we just cant seem to get out of it, the culmination of nearly a decade of mismanagement.

I want to be positive but this club is just soul destroying, the win v Arsenal gave us hope and then the cowardly display v Liverpool. I can accept not being us good as them but I cant accept not fighting for every point, we just gave up!

Leeds will press high and we don`t generally cope with these sides, we need to see more of the Arsenal than RS BUT without Dom out what have we got at the top end of the pitch? Thats our downfall and ultimately the clubs failure to address that will see us go down, and I think we will this season. With how the fixtures pan out there is little chance we will put a decent run together, Lampard made sure the winnable games are all gone.
