The top of the pitch is invariably more difficult to get right than the defensive side. It's usually far more expensive too.
When I saw the mcneil signing I thought straight away poor signing. I think he is too slow and only 1 foot for premier league standard . His goal and assist return were poor. whatever money spend on him, I guarantee you it will have been money wasted.

maupay is prob championship standard too so as I said at the time I would have preferred to lump both sums and wages together and buy a forward who might challenge dcl for a position

2 shots on target in 90 mins of football, 1 shot on target in each 45 mins.......

That is worrying, that is exactly the type of attacking form that will take you down....

Man Utd (H) 2 shots on target
Spurs (A) 0 shots on target
Newcastle (A) 0 shots on target
Crystal Palace (H) 7 shots on target
Fulham (A) 4 shots on target
Leicester (H) 2 shots on target
6 games (540 mins) 15 shots on target, thats one every 36 mins....

So it isnt just this game it is something that is an issue with this team, a MASSIVE issue.

If we are relying on Dominic Calvert-Lewin we might as well give up now, if he goes the the World Cup there’s something seriously wrong. I’m happy with the defence and relatively happy with the midfield, but I’ve had enough of the offensive player they are all terrible.
The midfield were shocking in parts today. Loose passes, an utter reluctance to attack the box when wide players are in possession and the abdication of responsibility when in possession on the edge of the box was like something from last season - far too fragile to risk something like a shot when they can pass it sideways or backwards instead.

Barnes, Maddison, tielemens, dewsbury hall. All smarter, more direct, more potent than any one of our players. Never see any of them stop the ball, do a couple of needless step-overs and waste the ball like most of our attackers do. Just better all round footballers than our lot.

Couldn’t think of anyone in a blue shirt who had a decent game. Maybe myko.
