It's taken me a few hours to come back down to earth after that. 4 goals and a clean sheet against Megabucks City is some statement of intent, and gives us glimpse of what the future will hopefully be like once Koeman gets his own team together and playing the way he wants.

That's the most organised defensively we have looked for over 3 years. Welcome back Resilient Everton. We pressed from the front and closed them down which was very pleasing to see. The goals were all taken superbly. The younger players did not look out of their depth, and Davies showed that he has arrived as a Premier League player. His flick in the build up to his goal had me out of my seat.

Absolutely made up with today. The future is bright, the future is Blue.

I find that these post-match interviews, which seem to becoming more common for certain clubs, just show case how bad their support really are.

They really do pluck the absolute worst of the supporters out to get views.

Pretty much the only way the day could have got better was if Clattenburg slipped and impaled himself on a corner flag, will settle for the result though.

I'd give robles a 9. Thought he was spot on. Hard to set where you can take two points off him.

Fair enough.

I don't think he had enough shots to face to get a nine - or really testing shots anyway.

Wonderful win. Very difficult to choose MoM but Tom Davies edged it for me.

As for the "penalty" claim, if there was the slightest chance it was a penalty Clattenberg would have awarded it lollollol
