One of the many differences was they looked so well organised when we had the ball. Didn't leave any gaps, closed us down. When they had the ball our midfield looked all over the place. Space and gaps everywhere. They just looked so well drilled while we looked like everyone had a free role in the middle

Back home and I am just numb.....no fight in me anymore for this shower. Our fullbacks are Sunday league standard.

With you on the numb part, well in the game until brain farts from our right back and they all gave up.

Harsh on Sunday league players though - I’ve played with better fullbacks than those two tonight in my school team and Sunday league.

Spot on. The Evertonians are the total lifeblood of our club....not the agents provocateurs of its downfall. Theyve simply kept the club going and with no return. Theres no rose tinted glasses with us....we call it as it is. I said tonight on here before the match that Wilson would run rings round our two fullbacks...not exactly clairvoyant, but moreso than the dugout. They put inadequate players out regularly and leave better players on the bench. Would Patterson have been worse at full back,...or Coady who hasnt had a sniff for sometime but can pass/tackle etc. At least they can surpass the basics as professionals and with heart...makes a change looking at the state of this shower tonight. But noone sees it. Thats why you get the club captain high fiving a less than journeyman fullback for jiggling a ball out of play for a corner as witnessed tonight. As Clint's Dirty Harry said with dejection...."marvellous".
