It'd be good to have a striker but also good if our midfielders could shoot straight. Some poor efforts out there. Rondon - a striker - had the best attempt and was promptly hooked.

Any competent striker in the second half would of won us that game the attackers weren't even doing routine runs off the shoulder

Thought Frank made a mistake with this first subs. I think Rondon should have stayed on as he was holding the ball up ok and after he came off we couldn't get the ball to stick. I also think we should have gone to a back four with one of the centre backs making way to get three in midfield.

A draw is not ideal to a newly promoted side at home but starting this season with three straight losses would have been disastrous so we have to take it.

Sadly, what many have predicted about not getting a striker in was akin to writing off the month of August has come to pass. We have absolutely no cutting edge at all and we simply must rectify this urgently to avoid another relegation battle.

Is that DCL though? I like him a lot, but is he really that striker? I would have had more confidence in Richarlison.

We very much look like team whenever Richarlison was injured. Absolutely cack.
Selling your only half decent player (on the bench at Spurs now) wont make you stronger. Tarkowski and McNeil are a disaster right now, Onana will need a season before being of any help, and Coady can only play in a 3 men defense. Really great.

Gray was everywhere today and did really well, his goal was quality.
He gets so much hate from obnoxious fans, it's embarrassing.

Gordon was also good despite more haters giving him stick.

Both can frustrate at times but were very good today.

It's glaringly obvious what the issue is and that's no proper striker.
If DCL was playing today we would of battered them.

Gordon and Gray are so quick that almost every dangerous attack there's nobody in the box.

Ya know what?
DCL is rapid.

I hope we get a striker in to cover for now.

Keep the faith, negatives.

I hope thats true but tactically this team is just woeful. I am not sure Gordon and Gray would know how to supply Harry Kane. Iwobi is our best bet in initiating a chance not from the edge of the box. After that maybe Pickford picking out a pass like today genuinely or a charging run from Coady.

This is why this is primarily on Frank. We dont repeat or have combinations or repeated patterns of play. Our goals come from defenses communication breakdowns, or complete one off, mercurial moments usually from the edge of the box. Thats just not going to be enough. Steve Cooper was clearly better on the day today and thats really worrisome.

I thought Rondon was poor, we break quickly and Rondon is just not quick enough to get on the end of anything. If we don't have a striker signed by the Brentford game, I think we could do worse than tell young Cannon that he is in for a couple of games. At least he can run and knows where the net is. Failing that, it's play Gray through the middle have him sit at the shoulder of the deepest defender and try to draw them onto us and play the ball over the top.
