They need to focus on the next game, get a decent result against Fleetwood away on Tuesday and build momentum for the visit to Brentford on Saturday.

Newcastle had 5 points and no wins after 16 games last season. It's only early, definitely not time to cave in.

Just got in from the match, my takeaways…
Positives; think the mentality and character of Tarkowski and Coady will be really important this year. They were always talking to other players and getting in the referees ear. Should help particularly in away games compared to last season where we were just spineless and rolled over every time.
Iwobi- continues to impress. So much better than when he first arrived. Probably first name on the teamsheet now.
Problems- just need a striker. Number of times the ball could have been crossed in but there was no one there, or Rondon didn’t look after the ball well enough. We need someone in ready to start next weekend, not a signing on Thursday who we’ll then be told isn’t match fit/ needs to adapt to the premier league. We can’t afford to just fritter away points because we haven’t got a decent number 9.
