Match Thread Everton v Notts Forest. Sun Dec 29th. 3pm

If we could be the 'new' Joe Royle team id be made up.

Youre right about the crowd, hard to tell today whether we should have gone front foot from the start.

Our starting full backs had terrible games from an attacking standpoint and i thought they and the centre backs looked shaky from the start.

One things for sure...our 11 starting looked scared to hit the ljne and put a cross in
zat - can you just do an summary

that dyche is poo?

Cant solely blame Dyche for today.

However, you talk about partnerships on the pitch. The only one i saw in an attacking sense was Patterson & Lindstrom.

Those 2 probably never factored into Dyches thinking before desperation took hold today.

There was also nothing we saw of play / training in attack....

What do you think?

….i’ll have a think later;

They do an Everton but with more balance. Pace is the only difference
Miles better than us in the final third. It’s not just pace for us, we can’t cross or pass either. Mykolenko’s deliveries are consistently dreadful, Doucoure can’t control or pass a ball, and Harrison is Harrison. Ideal scenario would be getting a RW and LB in January, but I can’t see it happening.

It's not just about today, when was the last time we actually went out to try and win a game, rather than hope the opposition give it to us? A manager worth their salt looks at the players available and fits them into a system that gets the best out of them. Dyche just lines up 4-5-1 hoofball no matter who we're playing. I don't blame him for the fact we've had to sell decent players and buy cheap ones ( not the DOF's fault btw, not that he's unearthed many gems, but he is operating with his hands behind his back thanks to Brands and Walsh), but I do blame him for not using Everton's greatest asset, the crowd. Win some tackles, press high and energetic, scare the bejesus out of the opposition. I was no Joe Royle fan, but his kind of "fear nobody" mentality is what's needed here, not the cowardice shown by Dyche!
This excusing of Dyche for not having resources would be a bit more credible if he hadn’t spent £18m on a centre half who he doesn’t even play.

Game dominated by poor ref. For those unhappy blues not to see Tarks sent off, was never yellow for the first, the ref had compromised himself for the second thats why its not given for me... And then Braithwaites yellow, second half, a loose ball that Gibbs has no control over is given advantage for some reason!

Dyche and Mykolenko conspired to finish the job off.

Man of match, Referee. Hopefully helps get rid of Dyche sooner rather than later.
