Match Thread Everton v Notts Forest. Sun Dec 29th. 3pm

You said they would get relegated, you plonker.

Nice, that's up there with @Naylor56 calling foreverblert a dork.

2 1/2 years ago they lost at home in a semi final playoff against sheffield united and barely made it to the playoff final and had to rely on a pen shootout

now they think they are a champions league team

deluded

No we don’t

We’re just enjoying what has been an unexpectedly good season so far, we’re pleased that we’re getting closer to safety and we’ll see how far we can go.

I don’t know one Forest fan who thinks we’ll be top 4. Most of us would be absolutely delighted if we could make top 10, and the key objective remains the same - to be in the PL again next season.

Forest fan here - I don't think we'll finish 2nd. My honest opinion is that we've just been enjoying the ride and there's part of me waiting for it all to burst. I think as the season has gone on, there's more and more hope that a European spot might be possible, but that probably won't be top 4. It's an odd PL table at the moment with both Manchester clubs and Spurs (the so called big 6) lower than expected.
If there’s a year to crack top 4, this is it. Spurs and United are both garbage. I mean they both beat us 4-0…But that’s just because were worse than garbage.

I know loads that do

I think forest were poor on the day against us. Lost loads of their battles with our players. The only difference was a well managed side who were trained well to score goals did so and a team managed by someone without the skillsset to set up a team properly to win, lost and wouldn't have scored if they were still playing today.

Forest fan here - it was remarkable in that Championship season to even be in the playoffs, I think we had 1 point after 7 games!

As for this season, I don't think there's too many Forest fans who think we're suddenly a Champions League team; we're singing the songs and going along with the ride, as every team would. If we qualified for any European competition, that would be a remarkable achievement; it would be the equivalent of Ipswich doing the same thing in a couple of years.

I'm very much aware of how quickly form can change; it's just nice to be up there after spending most of my supporting life in the second tier and even third tier for a spell.

Good luck for the rest of the season - I feel that Goodison Park deserves a better send off, than a Dyche team.

just before the game kicked off our 11 players (strangers) were just stood like gormless statues watching the forest team doing their team huddle

forest looked like they wanted it more than us and were fighting for each other

this is not a team, this is just 11 individuals who don't care

ever after forest scored, heads were down, no one was encouraging the players to try and get back into the game as quick as possible, there was just no urgency in our play, it was the same boring and mundane stuff as before

Tarks was too busy chatting to his old mate ‘Woodie’ in the tunnel instead of getting ready to go to war with him,

I was very impressed with their centre half Milenkovic. Sheperded the whole defence. Great reading of the play ( not that difficult with our one gear centre forwards). Our recruitment is dire.
