And Keane scored 8mins in - wasn’t like we were in the 80th minute before breaking them down. Sure we needed the 2nd to be truly comfortable but still!

In contrast the Guardian has this
The usual embargo gang seem to properly hate us now. Even the kopites like Bascombe and Joyce used to be okay but its nothing but sour grapes these days. I wonder if they don't get as much info as they used to from Brabds/Moshiri/Kenwright et al.

Bit unprofessional in my opinion. Its all very 'stay in your box'.

Kenny looked poor, can see why we are still being linked with RB’s and Ancelotti is reportedly unconvinced. Other than that the rest had decent games. Nkounkou looked a bright prospect at 19 and with Kenny being 23 it’s probably time to move him on.

Field that same team against Fleetwood and we could struggle. Not saying that Fleetwood will beat us. But we could struggle. wouldn't like to see that Everton team tonight go a goal behind. Not much fighting quality on show. Not much leadership on show........
So to make sure that we progress in this cup let's hope that Carlo goes a little stronger. Put on our new midfield. All three. Gordon also. And play DC L up top. Hit Fleetwood hard in the first half....give them nothing....Put the game to bed.
Then change a few players.........and coast the match.

Other premier league teams will field weakened teams. There will be a few shock results. A few top outfits could go out. Make sure that we aren't one of them.
I don't really trust our second string.........they are not that good.
Job done tonight.........But Salford were not great. Harder tests to come.
Up The Toffees............Carlos League Cup winning Toffees........hopefully.

Nkounkou man of the match for me with Gordon a close second. Some pace down that left hand side tonight.

Worried about Kean though, I thought he would shine against these and bag a few goals to boost his confidence. I know he hit the woodwork twice and slotted the pen, but, his control and decision making looked suspect.
