A real tough tactical decision tomorrow.

Just my opinion, but I'd be very tempted with DCL and Richarlison up top as a 2. But that would mean a 532 as I want Doucoure, Allan and Davies in the middle and that would mean no James.

We'll have serious options tomorrow with DCL, Rico, King, James, Iwobi, Gylfi, Bernard. Time for us to start turning turning screw on the knobheads above
What's wrong with 4-4-2 with a midfield diamond?

With Arsenal, Tottenham, Villa and the RS all winning over the last two days, we absolutely HAVE to win against Southampton. Anything less than three points means we lose ground on everyone immediately around us.

Absolutely no surprise that the losses to Newcastle, Fulham and Burnley have come back to haunt us. Hugely poor performances and hugely poor results, we should have taken at least five or six points from those four games. Now we simply can't risk any more slip-ups against the bottom eight.

We need ten points from the next four fixtures, and three of them need to come against Southampton.

No James?!

Southampton are a very energetic team, got a feeling maybe James should sit this one out like he did against Leeds a few weeks back.

Obviously the other school of thought is that he’s our most creative player so he plays.

I think either something like what I posted or finally get back to our 433 from the start of the season.

Pickford
Holgate Keane Godfrey Digne
Coleman Davies Allan
James
DCL Richarlison
(Doucs on for Allan)

We're smashing these.

I'd love it if this wasn't the continuation of the usual Everton. Get 6 points on the board and we've got an absolutely massive opportunity at Stamford Bridge in a weeks time.

On a side note,

What a great league this has been.

League positions 2-9 is only separated by 11 points

Big statement needed tonight, otherwise the derby win will all have been for nothing, apart from finally ending the voodoo against the enemy.

...hmmm...ridding the monkey off one's back, or the albatross from round one's neck, you mean?. I have heard of 'the straw that breaks the camel's back' but what is this 'breaking the camel's back' malarkey?

Big game n all. But I'm not having the 'the derby would be for nothing'. Shouts.

I'm sure when I'm looking at the highlights next season and looking towards the next derby. When the pundits are saying Everton won the last match at anfield. I'm not going to think ye but we couldn't beat Southampton so it doesn't matter.

Why do we do this. Every game 'is the most important'. No need to add to the pressure.
