Think another thing though is, under Moyes our defenders were expected to just clear our lines when under pressure, under Martinez he expects them to keep hold of the ball and play it out, so more chance of making mistakes.

A back four looking to play out at every occasion coupled with a midfield not showing/comfortable in possession = trouble.

I am talking as a whole unit....lose possession and all get behind the ball. We don't do that now.

Osman shown brightly today.....for about the first two minutes of the game and then instantly ran out of steam.

Thats a key thing thats been missing for a while now - fighting spirit. If the players can't show that in the next 2 games I'll despair. But to be honest I won't be surprised if it isn't demonstrated.

We all be surprised and it returns in the cup again which in that case fair enough but it should be running through the team every game, not just in cups.
