After Koeman's comments Friday, I'm surprised people thought Jagielka was going to be dropped.

He basically said "he's captain, he starts, but he needs to improve otherwise he will get dropped"

We have too many players that are all pace and no brains or end product: Lennon, Bolasie, that Villa bloke, way too many to list.

We have a manager who is extremely overrated as well.

And a board that doesn't want to spend proper money. (Mata is captain at Man U today - thought he was coming to us in the summer? Yeah right!)

Apart from all that, can't wait for this match.
????? WTF ?? Sniffs....

True but Cleverely is one of those that - whatever people say - will come in and do a job. He's bang average and we definitely need better but whatever people say about Clevs, he's been a consistent started for several high-profile managers.

Maybe they see something in him that fans don't?

Yeh, I would have liked to see Davies but I'm sure we will at some stage. Realistically with Barry back though he wasn't going to play today was he...

mate 'come in and do a job' is a footballing term fora bang average at best player

cleverley was a consistant starter for Martinez, Moyes, Lambert and Sherwood

Not including Ferguson as it wasprehisinjury since which he has looked pooras hell - being carried by much better players in the united side doesnt count really

Cleverley was soin demand we had a freerun at him when out of contract -sums up how he is regarded doesnt it?

only way players learn toff is to be given a chance and I'd be more than willing to let Holgate get some game time in order to get some experience.

Barkley played well against West Ham and hit the level he should and that's about it. I'm not singling him out either toff. I've just said I'm glad Lennon is being given another chance in a previous post.

I'm not moaning for the sake of moaning, I'm stating fact that of I was as crap as half of this team has been I would be replaced by a younger hungrier person. they won't learn if they ain't given a chance mate.

I get the point on Holgate but you can't say that because you know if he made a mistake people would come here saying 'why did Holgate play'?

And yes they were crap. I'd have liked more changes but my point is I can also see the logic in what Koeman has seemingly done.

"You let me down last week, now go out there and prove me wrong..."

He's come in when players have been injured.

McCarthy is supposedly injured today, which probably explains why he's in the squad.

your last couple of lines should really read "you've let me down the past 8 weeks, last chance to go out there and prove me wrong" and that's my issue. if it's a one off you say "fair enough give them a chance next week" but it's game in game out bar West Ham where we've put in any kind of acceptable performance.

and yep your right regarding fans would come on and say "why play Holgate" but that's just fans in general.
