Holgate cb with Williams
that team is stale and has been for far too long
totally agree Del has been tosh, so why not try him behind Lukaku to see if we can actually give some service to Lukaku instead of sticking him on the wing where he's done nothing.
it's like me saying "I hate my job but I can't be arsed changing it". It's up to the manager to change things around so this group of no marks don't feel their position is safe.

Holgate played CB with Williams vs Norwich and was exposed. I wouldn't want him up against Austin, with Redmond then allowed to run at Williams...

This 'group of no marks' won't feel safe... Lukaku and Gueye a-side all of the places will be up for grabs.

Baines is one game in from injury. Barry is returning as he's still our best midfielder despite being about 103. Barkley has kicked-on in the last few games, so why would you take him out and put Del in?

Bolasie is the only player we have that creates chances, despite resembling a donkey at times. Lennon has played once and though he was disappointing last week, if obviously been handed a chance.

Lennon only real surprise there. Opportunity for him. When was the last time Baines had a great game? COYB!

tbf to Baines he's been injured for three best part of 2 years so tough to find any form under the circumstances.

I'm glad Lennon has another game, match sharpness is what's required and if he doesn't perform well he can't say he hasn't been given a couple of games to stake a claim.

tbf though mate, he has also thisseason thought cleverley 'was' ready, so yeah his judgement isn't prefect is it :)

Jags playing again - odds on a pen for saints?

True but Cleverely is one of those that - whatever people say - will come in and do a job. He's bang average and we definitely need better but whatever people say about Clevs, he's been a consistent started for several high-profile managers.

Maybe they see something in him that fans don't?

Yeh, I would have liked to see Davies but I'm sure we will at some stage. Realistically with Barry back though he wasn't going to play today was he...

We have too many players that are all pace and no brains or end product: Lennon, Bolasie, that Villa bloke, way too many to list.

We have a manager who is extremely overrated as well.

And a board that doesn't want to spend proper money. (Mata is captain at Man U today - thought he was coming to us in the summer? Yeah right!)

Apart from all that, can't wait for this match.

Don't think Mata was ever linked with a move to Liverpool was he fella?

Don't understand the Baines hate.

Our crap run started when he got injured. That's a fact.

only way players learn toff is to be given a chance and I'd be more than willing to let Holgate get some game time in order to get some experience.

Barkley played well against West Ham and hit the level he should and that's about it. I'm not singling him out either toff. I've just said I'm glad Lennon is being given another chance in a previous post.

I'm not moaning for the sake of moaning, I'm stating fact that of I was as crap as half of this team has been I would be replaced by a younger hungrier person. they won't learn if they ain't given a chance mate.
