All the Soccer Saturday pundits saying Jags shouldn't have been sent off last week. Shocked by that. Every other pundit I've seen/read except Garth Crooks agreed with the ref.
After watching all the other tackles people get away with for a week people realized this letter of the law stuff was absolute crap and that the application typically would mean Jags sees yellow there

I'm fine with this XI. This group played well last week, we have some better plays on the squad, that we will see soon, but they have to get fit and settle/train. I like that we appear to have some offensive spark on the bench

No changes from the starting XI from last week. I’m happy but it also shows how fickle I am as I wasn’t happy with that XI when it was announced last week!

I hate playing with two DMs. Can't we play with Siggy and Gana and Lookman ahead of them? (Like number 10)

A few have commented on Digne not on the bench, can only agree with the comment he see’s Zouma as cover for CB & LB, if Coleman should get injured we do have Holgate to push out wide, however Kenny must have performed really well - Or Digne picked up a knock.

It’s better than last season when Cuco would have been the only player capable of supporting the LB role.

The team is more than able to get a result today and I look forwarded to where we draw attention to them. Thought they would line up 5-2-2-1 so hopefully Silva has them well briefed and we just annihilate them.

Same ref brandished a red against Newcastle - don't disagree with it, but there were certainly others that were as egregious that got yellow. Not really consistent.

It really isn't Dave, and the only reason you think it is is because you've got a massive chip on your shoulder over Brands.

I'd suggest you get over it, but you won't anyway.
It's nothing to do with him. My view is that there's too much wrappoing up in cotton wool going on here. I watched the training clips and Bernard looks ok for at least a bench spot...and who have we got on the bench that can take over at CB today? Zouma should be in there if he's training.

In some ways, though having all them players looming in the background could make those who are available feel as if they have to play a lot better to keep their places - Siggy especially, as he has no excuses (not starting, not starting in the right position, no players to pass to) now.
Bench is woeful.

There have been 3 sending offs in that game that were all way worse than Jags and he's gotten one right. Not good enough from him tbh

I think its good management - all the players he didn't think deserved a go have been shipped off, leaving those who he thinks could help us. Those players deserve a chance to show that now, especially as the new players aren't matchfit.

Holgate deserved a shot after the Wolves game, and if Baines, Keane and Sigurdsson fail now then at least he (and the group) can see he was fair and gave them the opportunity to prove themselves. Compared to how Koeman and Allardyce dealt with them this is a vast improvement.

An early goal and not pulling all the way back afterwards might lead to a 3-0, 4-0 game. Really hyped up for this.
