Think the Kone complaints are OTT. He does plenty right for all the dawdling in possession and such that lets him down. If Rom and the boss both say he helps Rom score then thats plenty reason to have him in there. You'd think he was offering nothing at all the way people are cursing him, and sorry but thats a long way from the reality.

I agree to a point, I was one of those who thought Lukaku's form was down to Kone, just think though that Kone has look knackered lately.

He nullifies Baines and offers nothing in support. Can't have it both ways, really. Can't have Martinez saying 'we need to do better in defense' and then pick someone who would abandon help at the drop of a hat

You think so? He has barely played with Baines.....not getting that point at all.

In terms of link play in the final third, I would imagine he would work well with Baines as he has with Rom.

Cover in defense....yeah, not the best, but I expect Baines to have more nous in when to go and when to get back goalside of his man than his young stand-in.
