Allright, what would we want to happen in the Newcastle - Liverpool tie?

If they draw, Liverpool go above us, and Newcastle are 8 ahead.
If Liverpool win, they're 2 ahead of us and 5 behind newcastle - we'll stay 7 behind them.
If Newcastle win, we stay ahead of the shoite, but still 10 behind Newcastle.

Considering the fact that we need to get Newcastle out of the equation to keep our chances of getting into europe through the league alive, i wouldn't mind it if the shoite won tomorrow, tbf.

We will not catch Newcastle. Even if we could saying you wouldn't mind THEM winning and as a result going ahead of us is nuts

If Liverpool lose, we get to laugh at them

If NUFC lose, we get closer to them.

Cant lose either way.

Would kind of like to see Liverpool win, if we keep playing well we will finish above them anyway. Plus I want Kenny to get at least one more summer spending Europa league money.

imagine gibbo at wembley on that massive pitch, would be tempted with coleman > hibbo, getting on some on the end of some of those long passes. Hibbo doesn't deserve to lose his place though.

.. And felli will always emerge out of the dust with the ball at his feet

Imagine Hibbo v Downing or Maxi, he will get bummed like Malouda did to him.

gueye got in some really good positions today, wish he cuda pulled the trigger at least once though, all with confidence though. Cahill has started to show his age today and against swansea but has looked good nethertheless, maybe too many games for him in a short space of time. Interesting to see vic come on ahead of straq and then mcfadden. Hibbo really got forward today was refreshing to see, as well as brilliant defence from baines

Good result against a very poor side, loving the centre mid partnership of felli and gibson.

Lets rest felli now as each time he goes down I get that sick in the stomach feeling!!

I don't think WBA played that bad. They had more opportunites to score than Sunderland did in the 1-1 draw and I thought Sunderland played quite well in the 1st tie. I think we are just playing well right now.

Top 6 is gone, we won't finish above Newcastle. 7th may still get into Europe through the League anyway. Sh1te to lose tomorrow all day long.
7th won't get us in to Europe. The R/S automatically get in because of the Carling Cup at the expense of the 3rd league spot.

Despite that, I still think that 6th is on because of our form and because we play Barcodes on the last day of the season in what could be a 6th place playoff

Oh yeah I'd obliterated that from my memory...we'll qualify by getting to the Cup Final so.

Made up about sland hahaha. What a shocker of a week theyve had. Good result today and a decent enough performance. Jelavic needs resting against norwich, for me. He is shattered. By the way, what a signing darron gibson is turning out to be. Fancy us to get 7th here. Everton are making me so happy lately ffs

I missed the game today, watched it on a stream, and I thought Barry Horne was harsh on Jelavic. Not everything he came off but he did more than enough good things. The movement's excellent, he's always there, competing and lots of clever bits of play. It's early days but he's looking a real bargain.

I've seen lots of improvement from Gibson since his second half at Swansea, even against Sunderland he pinged some excellent passes into Cahill and Jelavic, and he took his distribution onto another level today, switching the play and showing vision. I'd still like to see a bit more involvement from him but as someone who hasn't quite been convinced by him as of yet (as a starter) fair play to him for upping his game and coming back even stronger. There's definitely ability there.

Baines was my man of the match, his workload is crazy for our team and he constantly steps up and performs. Forget his overlapping and play in the final third, he starts alot of our attacks with his passing range, drilling balls into our forwards feet from the left back position. There aren't many fullbacks who can do that aswell as he can. He's one of the most consistent players we've had.

I was really impressed with him first half, he was excellent. Good use of the ball. We've struggled against teams who've defended deep to get behind them, him getting the balls our wide early really helps. Just wish we had an ace right back.

He's grown on me this week, maybe he's settling in and getting some confidence.
