their attacking threat is coming from Jenkinson the right back .kev mirallas is a complete passenger today, get a striker up front with rom and sit him out on the right side to stop jenkinson getting forward. game over.
Done absolutely nothing, tbf. Mind you, he;'s not alone in that.

Positive half overall. TBH McCarthy and Naismith have been a bit wreckless with those challenges. And FFS, stop giving the ball away so needlessly.

take off Osman our best player ???

not take him off just either tinker the way we are playing to gain more control or simply move him up and take either barkley or naismith off who haven't shown anything in that half to deserve to stay on 2nd half

its just incredibly noticable why martinez trusts barry so much because look how bad we are at transitioning from defence to midfield without him, the back 4 can't complete a pass to save their lives. Besic will offer that option and also offers the snide factor that against a side that has nolan, noble, carroll and cole in it you need someone more physical in a midfield battle than osman

Lucky on the goal in that Lukaku was offsides. Need to be careful with this match with the tempers firing up. Osman is havig a good match but there is a very obvious reason all of their threats have come down our left. Mirallas being told to not track back, and it is just Osman vs Hibbert. Besic on at 70. Osman doesn't have 90 minute legs anymore and definitely not playing as a box to box.

Still we look the better side and if we can stop passing the ball to them they don't seem to have much of a threat.

Hibbert is basically making it open season on our left side. Our back four generally looks out of sorts. Kev, as you might expect, has had a quiet game. Wouldn't take McCarthy off. He's been our most solid player. That whole thing over the tackle was handbags. Lukaku really can't hold up a ball, can he? Nervous here. We need another goal or two to settle nerves.

If the back four can distribute that will calm the nerves.

We're still not clicking. Fortunate with the goal but a good finish from lukaku but we're doing our usual putting ourselves under pressure with some dodgy passing. Barkley and Mirallas need to get more into the game, they've been good in flashes but we need more.
We're unrecognisable from the team we had out last season.

Our defensive passing out to play is schoolboy stuff we look vulnerable to concede- KM and a few changes needed in the 2nd half , and Hibbo offers nothing as an overlapping full back steady, but shaky all in one!

If there's any moral high ground west ham have it. We're diving, reckless tackling, linesman hassling scumbags and we're still sh@te. 3 points will make it alright though.

Never going to happend, but if we could change two things in the second half I would take Mirallas of and Besic in, then Hibbert for Garbutt.
Then we would be in better shape I think.

Osman has done quite well going forward, but he's still a liability in defense--Jenkinson went by him like he was standing still. Hibbert looks ok on the left; happy trails to Garbutt whichever club he goes to next. Lukaku finding the net is fantastic. COYB.
