Another useless ref stopped us winning that.
Rom,joel and besic great games.
Need to defend a lot better, with 2 defensive midfielders and the back 4 we should not be so weak at the back.
Could even beat city now

I thought we broke well at times with good pace, we need to start pressing the ball, if we do this and hit teams on the break with pace we should be ok.

We were unlucky not to win that, another day with a competent ref (yeah right) and Lukaku's header would have stood as well.
Joel looked more like an actual goalkeeper which is an improvement. Besic played well and was unfortunate in being subbed.
Another individual mistake in defence led to us conceding, although we were still pretty shaky until Stones came on.

Talk of that goal being the 'Heath' moment is very scary and I hope people don't really beleive that.

It could well be.

But and its a big but (lol - I like big buts and I cannot lie), we just failed to beat a very weakened West Ham team at home. There's no hiding from that.

Yes there were some pretty decent positives. Rom played really well. Robles almost looked like an actual goalkeeper. And Besic and McGeady had good moments.

But we failed to beat West Ham at home.

Wow!! We actually showed fight and character last night!! Forward passes, direct passes, trying through balls. It was like we'd gone back to last season.

Then the daft mistakes from Distin and Jags crept in to remind me.

Overall, i thought we deserved at least a draw, Rom looked immense and i'm made up he's shut alot of people up...feed him the ball and he'll do the rest! Simple as that. Besic looked superb too, so solid. Joel made some good saves and looked more confident.

My worries are: Distin playing AT ALL. Barkley signing for West Ham and we hadn't been told!? Every pass was finding their players, so frustrating to watch him. Out of position or not...doesn't mean you pass to the opposition. Coleman, just doesn't have that same bite. He seems lost at times which is weird, last season he would run teams ragged.

Much happier that the team actually showed fight and determination last night, hardly any daft negative passes, we looked like we wanted it again! The last few weeks have been depressing, too many players look like they cba, last night the majority looked bothered again!

Tbf we did score twice, and perhaps should have won. The defence was still shocking though, at least until Stones came on for Distin.

Big plus for me is that Besic has put those supposed 'cod hard bells' Barton and Nolan back in their respective boxes good style...one glare and narry a peep.

Fat Harold would be proud...d'you wanna see me?, correct response, puts up hands...not me Aitch.

.......Fat Harold, that takes me back.

This! It was as if they knew it had to change and were very reluctant to pass backwards. I genuinely believe this is because of the booing in the past few weeks. They all heard it and Roberto will not have wanted to hear it again tonight.
They passed forward and looked less scared of doing so.

Eto'o was very average last night. Would have rather Kone had come on instead.

I don't think either should be coming on ahead of McGeady.

We need to create things and we're asking a centre forward to play in midfield and try to make something happen.

Remember that we were playing at home and then pressure is on us to play football and give it to the opposition. Can't wait to see how we play next Tuesday, hope it's nothing similar to Hull or Newcastle.

Anyone got the link from the OS to check credit history I've been on it before but can't seem to find my way back on to it anymore. Just want to see if I'm entitled to a west ham ticket.

This was a very small step in what I hope is our recovery.

On the plus side the players showed some spirit at last but the defending was still woeful and in general we moved the ball too slowly.

You could only be impressed with that performance if you weren't there.

Best we've been attacking all season to be honest. Even better than Wolfsburg, but defending was so bad still which is still a big worry. At least there was some passion and drive for once.
