Two steps forwards then one backwards. As the saying goes. It's frustrating because it was a typical Moyes managed team performance we all know adore and love to hate.
I understand what you really mean with the “two steps forward then one backwards” but in last nights game, and in many others, it was one pass forward then four or five passes backwards then Pickford making one huge pass forward to no one!!

Anyone else sick of Yerald’s stupid reverse flick blocks that always go to an opposing player? I can think of 2 that have ended in a goal conceded; last night and Mo Salad. Not sure why he’s got his back to the play, needs to get in a better position to clear it or just leave it for someone else. Missed Keggers last night I think.

Poor game last night.
Luckily no fans to boo or ask for a refund.
Tom Davies isnt Perlo.
What happened to the exciting football from early season.
Other clubs are a decent watch,no spark in the current team.
DCL dropping deeper after telling us he was told not too, hence his goals tally.
A blip?
I hope so.

....we’ve been grinding out a few results but when you come across a well organised team somebody in the opposition is just as likely to stick out a boot and score just as West Ham did yesterday.

When Digne, James and to a degree Iwobi are missing and a poorer side is well organised we are going to struggle. Throw in Richarlinson being off colour and Sigurdsson looking exhausted.

We are better suited to playing better teams in my view. However we need to get Richarlinson back firing and James fit if we want to put away these sides (at a very minimum).

One small positive is Gomes appears to be getting back to his best in recent weeks, going back people, taking the ball etc.

Small mercies, but we looked tired yesterdsay, missed Michael Keane, and lost a scrappy game to a fortunate goal.

They’re all cowards ... we have so many problems . Whenever any of our players receive the ball they always bring it under control and as they do they make their first touch and turn their body so that they’re facing our own goal. Not once does anyone turn and face the opposition goal with their first touch. Also if we are going to play this pointless , slow, frustrating un-penetrating football. We must sit back and counter attack... to do this this need a few things. You need pace to break away , you need players that have balls and will actually dribble and attack space , you need players that can actually pass forward , players that have composure but above all.... you need to be able to turn over possession and then attack . We just jog around closing space without actually pressing and we usually win the ball back by it going out for our throw or a GK.... this gives them 10-60 seconds to reset and we are playing against 11 men behind the ball and in shape. The amount of times we find a break or get the benefit of the bounce and have some space to attack only for davies to take 6 touches, siggy to mis control, Coleman to chop it back to the CB or for richy to either kick it to them, fall over crying , or just dribble straight into their player drives me nuts.
You’ve got it right, describing football, that is as old as the hills, we should be playing, pass and bleedin’ move. We don’t, we pass, mostly to the opposition, then stand there looking at what we’ve done wrong.

Why did you all just magically expect us to run them into the ground because we’d had a few more days rest than them? We don’t do well against organised teams and that’s what they are. Neither team deserved to win and they went for the draw and got lucky. Just one of them.

Very poor performance from the team. I like Richarlison but he’s been way off it this season. Doesn’t look happy to me. Something’s not right. Maybe he’s playing in the wrong position.

Some of you guys being disrespectful, two good sides having a poor night, the winner had a large element of luck and a draw would have been a fair result and unless you are new to watching football you should not be surprised. Good luck for the rest of the season except for the return game at that monstosity we now have to call our home ground, up the hammers⚒⚒⚒ happy new year

Weve been involved in lots of tight games that went our way. Last night was equally tight but went the other way. We need to perform better on a more regular basis so games aren't decided on the finest margins.

It was a poor game and neither team performed but as the home team, it wasn't good enough from us. West Ham were always relatively in control defensively.

Not unexpected tbh.
Plenty on here saying how we should sign a new right back or a defensive midfielder .
Well maybe if they watched that last night they might see what others have been noticing for a while.
Dom has gone 5 games without a goal and we have a badly out of form Richarlison , where is the goal threat coming from.
Siggy has chipped in with a couple and James a few ,other than that there's nothing. We cant rely on set piece goals.
We desperately need pace and a far greater options up front , otherwise these type of games can and will turn similar results.
So jib the right back & defensive mid shouts eh.
