Leeds?

And the United cup game and this one tonight shows how lacking in focus and self belief they are.

We're miles off being a top team in the making. It takes mental strength as well as good players (and we clearly dont have enough of them)
Pains me to say it but I 100% agree.

we have been winning games, but not by been way better than the opposition, dont think the performances in those wins has been by any means spectacular, but we were getting the Job done

this ^^^

the sheff UTD game was a similar lack lustre performance ... we just got the goal but apart from that we done nothing . The conditions played a part or at least I thought they did ... probably would have played the same if we had perfect conditions tbh. The Leicester game we got lucky with the keeper letting in a soft one and then got a set piece. We have been getting result more by luck than judgment and eventually kick turns and quality ... or lack of... will eventually show

They’re all cowards ... we have so many problems . Whenever any of our players receive the ball they always bring it under control and as they do they make their first touch and turn their body so that they’re facing our own goal. Not once does anyone turn and face the opposition goal with their first touch. Also if we are going to play this pointless , slow, frustrating un-penetrating football. We must sit back and counter attack... to do this this need a few things. You need pace to break away , you need players that have balls and will actually dribble and attack space , you need players that can actually pass forward , players that have composure but above all.... you need to be able to turn over possession and then attack . We just jog around closing space without actually pressing and we usually win the ball back by it going out for our throw or a GK.... this gives them 10-60 seconds to reset and we are playing against 11 men behind the ball and in shape. The amount of times we find a break or get the benefit of the bounce and have some space to attack only for davies to take 6 touches, siggy to mis control, Coleman to chop it back to the CB or for richy to either kick it to them, fall over crying , or just dribble straight into their player drives me nuts.

Mentality was very poor right from the start of the game. They looked nervous and scared to take any risks. There's only so much a manager or coach can do with players who buckle so easily under any pressure.

Everton that.

Yes, it’s a cliched remark but it just so succinctly describes the spineless mess we support. If you want to support a team that invariably lets you down, then Everton is the team for you.

NSNO

But the fans, eh...

How can the team be expected to perform when boo boys in the Park End and arl arses in the Upper Bullens are verbally abusing them

Oh wait.......

I booed my telly to within an inch of it's life last night.

These are halcyon days for these Everton players, they are escaping from their well deserved booing and I for one am going to save them up for when the fans return. Even if we win and play well.
It's a point of principle.

Well Hammers sat back watched our midfield line dancing, Davies had time on the ball Hammers happy to sit back and let us pass back sideways, DCL may as well have sat in the stand ! No one deserved to win, Holgate’s passing was woeful, and Richarlison is impotent without Digne getting grey ball forward quickly. Can only improve nmthus performance

We had the chance to go 2nd and put ourselves in the mix. Came up against another bang average side. Within 20 minutes, It was apparant we were not going to win.

Carlo is the best thing to happen to us, since Kendall. Let him build and we will be sound.

Too many losers still stinking out the squad.

There is no way in training Carlo has stood there and told Mina to take at least 4 touches with the ball before passing it to Coleman to do the same before passing it to Holgate who's told turn then turn again and pass it to Mina.

Really disappointed in them yet again. Sometimes the performance hurts more than the result and that’s the case here.
Just when you start loving them again they cut you in two.

Need to get back to basics by playing best players in best positions, starting with Godfrey at Centre Back, his natural position.
Holgate looks better at RB and Seamus has sadly had his better days.

Last night's result a reality check. Already posted that a massive opportunity squandered to stay in the mix.
Just let us settle back into another season of mediocrity with fleeting glimpses of what might have been.
See if Brands can conjure a rabbit out of the hat this window with someone who can assist the team while Allan and Digne return.
