Has Lampard said anything about Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the press conference or is it one of those "we'll see how he feels on morning of the game" stock answers.

That front 3 of Gray-Maupay-McNeill was dismal at Bournemouth and that leaves Gordon as the only attacking option of 8 on the bench to potentially change things.

And people wonder why the team have failed to score in 5 of the last 6 prem games...

Wolves don't score much either but they do have all their experienced strikers available for this. Interested if they go for Diego Costa or Jimenez upfront.
Costa has looked exactly like what he is so far. A player who is clearly past his sell by date .

Checks odds on Costa to score any time.

Lets hope the break was the reset we needed, get a win v Wolves by any means and take the City defeat and then the window is open...

I want to be positive but I`m thinking Lampard will be playing "not to lose" v Wolves and City whilst the DoF/Board will not be bringing in forwards till at least after the Brighton game, so that game could also be more of the same.... and even then what quality will we bring in then? More Maupays?

I was listening to Lampards presser, very well spoken and shows the club in a good light, I would be all in on Frank if he showed the ability to win 1 in every 2 or 3 games, currently that is 1 win every 5 or 6 games and that isn`t good enough. I`d feel like a hypocrite hammering Franks predecessor whilst his record is on a par or worse......

Anyway, fingers crossed this is the turning point for Frank because he could be gone within the month if he doesn`t improve, he does that by getting results......

He's going to need four points from Wolves and Brighton. Playing "not to lose" won't cut it now. He's at a point now where he sinks or swims. While people - including Farhad - "expect" a defeat at City, a humiliating hammering will only add to the sense that he's out of his depth if we haven't beaten Wolves. Tom Davies is, apparently, into "sustainability". Well, he'll know that Frank's position could be unsustainable in a matter of days. I mean, it's Wolves and Brighton. He's being given something of a pass at City. But bad reverses in Manchester over the next fortnight will certainly not help him, so even those games (which nobody will expect to win) should not be dismissed as irrelevant. He needs performances there - and points in the other two.

They were glorified friendly matches against Scotland's best pub team and a Yabbi Creek XI. About as meaningful or relevant as Wolves beating the team bottom of League Two in the cup. Must hit the ground running running, can't be looking like we're the same side pre-WC.
Yes, but the post was meant to be a bit funny, and winning friendlies is better that losing them and West Sydney Wanderers are
second in the league and far from being a Yabbie Creek eleven. What have Wolves been doing while the WC has been on?

I watched the Gillingham match and they looked like a team that's struggling as much as we have this season

It's the Alf Stewart league not Spain, ya flamin glarah. Don't remember the last time we put 5 past a competative side. Would happily have swapped our Kangeroo Cup win for the 3 points against Bournemouth. Hopefully Wolves have a few too many mince pies and struggle again tomorrow. Still-drunk Diego Costa v Yerry "shytehouse" Mina has got christmas cracker written all over it......... ?

I think he will get a draw against wolves and lose to city and it will just prolong his reign which is destined for the championship. He should have gone immediately after Bournemouth. Well out of his depth

24 hours from now...

Midfield will be a key area, Neves is dangerous as we saw last year if you let him dictate we need Iwobi and Gana to swarm around him. We also need to be high tempo from the off they may get a new manager bounce.

I still don't know how much is on Lamps and his tactical naivety and how much is on the frailties in the squad, lets not ignore the boards culpability too, more mismanagement we went into a season with no recognised striker for five games. This next period will tell a lot I am not convinced another manager does much better right now we need a forward or two and some momentum. I'm hoping the break will have helped. He needs to get the team balance right and he needs results asap though

On the upside, if they do get a new manager bounce, we might get one too in a few weeks.
