Cant lie i've not missed the frustration depression and disappointment of Everton match days.

We weren't left with a choice between only two managers. Other teams no more attractive than us have appointed quality managers. Villas-Boas, Sampaoli, Favre and Joachim Low were all available when we aimed Lampard. All of them had better track records than FL. Everton fans were calling for Lampard - he was clearly topping the polls when they appointed him. We deserve everything we get.

The problem is that it the only option was Lampard or Vitor and after that ridiculous interview on Sky we ended up at Lampard. For whatever reason the club simply is reluctant to look outside the 'PL experience' zone when it comes to managers or players a lot of the time. Where has the PL experience thing actually got us in recent years though.

Agree completely. Premier League experience is a consideration in the very short term: familiarity with the players and teams in the league is an advantage. Any manager worth his salt will get to grips with that within weeks.

My point is it wasn't only Lampard and Vitor we had to choose from. There were managers with proven records of improving teams who were also available, at least one of whom said he would have taken the job.
