As soon as hibbert the [Poor language removed] went off we improved 10 fold

not a coincidence. neville posed a threat and blackburn backed off.

HIBBERT OUT!

With the look of this game I'm happy with 1 point.. but we have to play better against these teams.

+

Baines! Really impressive as LB, good going forward and worked the whole game.

Arteta. When he got the ball he tried to do something with it all the time. Nice cross to the goal as well and some other nice passing

-

Hibbert. He can't go on playing like this. The goal falls on his shoulders. First be places MGP onside and then fails to do anything with the rebound that falls in the area he is.

Our central midfield.. Can't play this defensively like they did in the first half.. they need to step up otherwise we can play with 6 defenders instead.

Still.. 4 games into the season and we have 7 points. Not that bad.. but it could be much, much better.

ugly first half, howard kept us in it there...after slow start in the second half, really came alive and made it a match...scrappy effort. i dont mind treading water a little bit while we wait for the lineup to come into form and no points in a home match would have been a disaster. ill take the 1...and look forward from here.

It seems that a common factor in these first few games where a goal has been conceded is Hibbert. I have to admit from the players available to being puzzled by Moyes team selection.

hibbert certainly seems to be taking the stand as the early-season whipping boy (not that i oppose--its deserved thus far)....

another observation from today is jags...he seems like he's almost 'there'...just not quite yet....but i have high hopes for him as the season progresses.

We started so badly, they had 80% of the game, FACT.

We managed to get out with a draw, Jags and Baines have now started to slot in, Hibbo has been found out and Nev can play there, Faddy and Big Vic will be bench warming or worse for future matches, the Yak and Manny will be in next game (Manny was in the stand today). DM actually recognised the dangers of what we were doing wrong and he acted before half time, another lesson learned. Lets not worry too much over this result the future remains bright, the future is blue(y) (y)

Jags were lucky not getting booked today.. and so was AJ. Wouldn't have grumbled if they'd gotten booked for some of their challenges today.

I think Jags will shape up into a good defender for us.. his play today might be down to his burning desire to be in the team and show his worth.. and therefore go into some challenges a little bit too hard.

Not gonna lay blame on Hibbert for the goal as the whole squad played like [Poor language removed] the first half. No one could complete a pass. No one could win a 50/50 ball, and no one would contest any Blackburn players with possession in front of our box.

Yeah, in hindsight, maybe Hibbert should have run out instead of covering his man but the team as a whole was a complete let down from minute one. In fact it's the worst I've seen 'em play in a long time.

Lucky we got a point out of it because we deserved absolutely nothing out of the match.

Hopefuly Moyes will see that starting a match with two defensive midfielders in the center of the park (a la Real Salt Lake) leads to no imaginiation, creativity, or posession in the center of the park. Neville to RB, Manny in the center with Carsley in behind him.

Hope the injuries to Carsley and Stubbs aren't serious. Same with AJ. We need to get it sorted though. Come out like that in European competition and we'll get the same results as last time around.

I saw Osman's name on the team sheet but honestly can't remember anything he did today.
Baines looks like a great signing, so did Jagielka.

We started so badly, they had 80% of the game, FACT.

Well.. perhaps not 80%. I'd give them a 70%.

We did have the first 15 mins, and the majority of the last 15.. but otherwise it was their game. Without Howard and Baines.. they'd be out of reach in the last 20 mins.

Other than McFadden's goal and Howard's save on Dunn, no one did anything of note today.

This is one of those games where you can't point the finger at one individual and say that he's the reason we had a crappy match.
