would be nice if Manny and Yak are playing in our next match

loved what I saw out of Jags and especially Baines (in my defense of Baines, I played with him on Fifa Champions League 2007, and hated him... so I hated him even before today... but my thoughts have changed lol)

Arteta had a beautiful 360 late in the game... needs to shoot the ball on that one where he layed it up to Andy who couldn't get there in time

Timmy played very well in net... not much he could do about their goal

really not a fan of Hibbert, Osman or Vic

Really? i thought he changed the tide of the game when he came on.

But then we finally had someone who could match that monster Samba physically and that really helped us a lot.

Anichebe made the difference...

howard - great
yobo - great
hibbert - poor
Stubbs - average
Baines - pretty good but not good
Arteta - Alright, good in comparison to other players, but not good compared to his usual performances
Osman - I didnt see much of osman, he played well passing etc, but couldnt get past the defence
Carsley and neville - both poor, it seemed to me as neville did one good thing (like intercept the ball) he would instantly mess it up (by passing it to blackburn)
Mcfadden - played well
Johnson - Is anyone getting a bit tired of him? he doestn suit our play, he cant win headers, and his pace isnt exaclty spectacular, he is fast yes, but not that fast...And it isnt the first time that we have seen him fail to convert one of artetas passes in the box.

Moyes - Tried to eexperiment and got it wrong, but he made up for it with this subtitutions, he made good subtitutions i thought, better than usual...

MoM - either yobo, howard, or mcfadden

I wouldn't write him off just yet, he has played well for us in the past and even in the first couple of games this season, I think it's just a lack of confidence thing, as soon as he scores and breaks the ice the old AJ will return.

He was outstanding against spurs and he is playing with an injury due to a lack of strikers available so i,d never write him off.
Just a note on faddy apart from the goal i thought he was poor.

How the hell did McFadden make the Skysports team of the week??? He hit a goal....his only useful part in the whole game. Still, thsts what he is payed to do.

I thought most of th eteam played well below par, exceptions were Howard, Yobo, Lescott and Jags for their half-games. I guess if we play that poorly and pick up a point, we should be relieved, but sure hope we pick it up.

Just to rehash an old point - no matter what else you say, their goal really was the turning point, and having watched the replay several times now, it is 100% Hibbo's fault:
- initially he was 3 yards behind the rest of the back four, playing their foward onside
- then chose to push out when he at least had goalside position on an onside striker already in the box, with the ball in the air.

He knew it, too - the rest ofthe game until subbed he had that haunted look, confidence shot.

Totally agree CT.

Does anyone have an update on Cars and Stubbsys 'injuries'?

Neither were having great games but I can't imagine DM pulling anyone off before halftime, especially The Cars'.

Jags to play the holding role against Bolton anyone?
