Not really. He passed it to Stones because it was easily the best defensive option, because Stones was in the best position to clear. It was 100% Stones fault. He made a similar error against Tranmere and the main weakness in his game at present , which I hope will be ironed out, is his occasional lapses in concentration and his occasional poor positional play.

Im sure its been said numerous times but its pre season, its the time to get all the mistakes out now before next Saturday. We should have everyone back for Paderborn and Bob will probably start the 11 he has in mind for Leicester. Id rather play Browning right back instead of Hibbert though if Coleman isnt ready, Hibberts on his last legs now

Anyone who plays 5-a-side regularly knows you turn up, slam a few abysmal shots wide of the goal whilst you're warming up, but when the game starts, things start to work.

Its never nice to see us losing in pre-season but its about getting a bit of pitch time, trying a few things out, see what works and what doesn't. I'm quite confident that come the first game, things will be fine.

Not too bothered about the results, or even performances as it is only pre season. I am sure he will have the first 11 well drilled for when the real action begins. We looked terrible last season against Betis and then didn't really find our feet for the opening games, but we still had a good season.

These games are being used to gain as thorough an assesment as we can for the possible Europa league players imo.
I think sadly, we have learned that Hibbert has gone. He would be a liability against lower league opposition now.
Garbutt was playing well but sadly picked up a knock. He will get game time as will Browning.

For me we need another striker, a pacey winger, a number 10 and unfortunately, a right back too.

Coleman's injury may be a blessing in disguise as we clearly need cover due to Stones/Browning looking better centrally, Hibbert looking like a poor mans Hottiger and Jonjoe Kenny not ready yet.

On a side note what I found most alarming was Tranmere/Everton charging £20 to go and watch a meaningless training exercise at Tranmere's ground. Testimonial's I can understand but not this.

Went last night - pretty disappointing (unless Nolito doesn't get on the Vigo bus). Poor crowd (and quiet) - maybe 4 or 5,000 (does anyone know how few were there?)

Barkley and Besic apart - hmm.. not good. Need to realise that key players weren't playing (but when will they play?) - Stones hmm well how about concentrating on your job not pointing to Distin to cover for your mistake? Browning looks ok but has a touch of the Hibberts going forward as he prefers to pass it back.

Think he needs to start finding a man in blue far more than he currently is. His pass rate completion must be well below 50% atm and thats shocking.

The Osman bashing hasn't exactly been undeserved though mate, he has been poor pretty much since his England call up a year and a half ago, Hibbert is not good enough to be getting any game time nowadays, Osman is at best a 10-15 min sub player if we hold any hope of top 4 or winning a cup, we mock the rs for not having the balls to phase out gerrard whilst we have Osman playing in every game last season, kinda ironic

Can't disagree that Osman's form has fallen away or that Hibbert has his limitations. I was just trying to inject some balance - it wasn't all Hibbo's fault last night.

Success breeds confidence, both for the team and the fans. We could do with a bit of confidence about now......

Should be made permanent captain of the U21s playing at defensive - mid which would allow others (Ledson etc.) to go out on loan and enable him to provide professional advice and guidance as to how to conduct yourself as a pro footballer.

He should not be playing in our first team as he now has the Phil Neville desease of always passing the ball backwards and putting our defence under pressure.

...I suspect RM will have a specific role in mind but he must also have him in consideration as cover. Perhaps Hibbert might play in one or more of the cup competitions, he needs to step up a level if that is the case.

Lost 3-1, Nolito with a hat trick in a little over 15 first haf minutes after McGeady had put us one up.

Not very well.

Played the second half, where we were a lot better, not surprising given Celta had only played Burnley the previous night.

Got beat 3 1, 1st half poor, 2rnd half better with Barkley, Besic, and Gibson being our best players. Duffy came on for the second half and had a decent game
