the pass that hibbert gave stones was ok. it was stones who mess it up being slow and not sharp enough look back at it.

......players made mistakes, players were off the pace, I'm afraid Hibbert just looked totally out of his depth. He must have a lot to offer behind the scenes, which is fine if that is the reason for a contract extension but its difficult seeing him making a contribution on the pitch after that performance.

Should be made permanent captain of the U21s playing at defensive - mid which would allow others (Ledson etc.) to go out on loan and enable him to provide professional advice and guidance as to how to conduct yourself as a pro footballer.

He should not be playing in our first team as he now has the Phil Neville desease of always passing the ball backwards and putting our defence under pressure.

I never saw the game, but come first game against Leicester I'm sure that Coleman will start in place of Hibbert.

So from the gist of what people have said, we will automatically keep a clean sheet. The midfield will keep possession better and our strikers will create chances. It seems to be that Hibbert curses the team.

Hibbert appears to have gone from GOT hero to zero pretty quickly

I don't think he's ever been a hero as such, but he's clearly a blue through and through. Unfortunately he's never been that great at the more technical aspects of association football (passing, dribbling, positioning, crossing, running in a straight line etc) and he hasn't exactly improved with age.

He is the nemesis of the carp world, however.

Went the game tonight. Thought first half we were awful. We strolled around and vigo were pressing us really high and our players didnt like it. Baines looked lazy i thought. Hibberts injurys looked like they have caught up with him, usualy defensivly he is touch tight with his man but seems as hes worried about turning/pace he is now giving them that extra yard of space, which is vital at this level. As i said we looked lazy first half even mcarthy wasent doing his usual running and all 3 goals came from daft mistakes or not working hard enough to win it back.
2nd half we looked much better. Mcarthy seemed to wake up once he got kicked and barkley looked much better furthar up the pitch. Stones looked better at right back then he did centre back (never thought id say that), not been a fan of browning at right back but he looked good at left back. Besic is gowna pick up a hell of a lot of cards. We need our starting side for the season to be either
howard, coleman (stones if not fit), jags, distin, baines, barry, besic, mcarthy, mirallas, lukaku, barkley 4-3-3
Or
howard, coleman(stones if not fit), jags, distin, baines, barry, mcarthy, pienaar, naismith, mirallas, lukaku 4-2-3-1

Hibbert was diabolical yesterday there is absolutely no denying that.

His injuries do look to have caught up with him.

He was no where last night and should not be 2nd choice RB

This Hibbert bashing is reaching Osman proportions.

Yes he was bad, but they all were in the first half - I actually thought Barry was our least effective player, and neither he nor McCarthy provided any foothold in midfield. Hibbert was forced into the back pass at times because no-one was offering a sideways or forward option. That was sorted in the second half by Gibson and Besic, and Mccarthy Barkley and McGeady came to life.

The worrying things for me were the number of times we lost possession due to a poor first touch and short or misplaced passes. They do look sluggish for this stage of pre-season.

The Osman bashing hasn't exactly been undeserved though mate, he has been poor pretty much since his England call up a year and a half ago, Hibbert is not good enough to be getting any game time nowadays, Osman is at best a 10-15 min sub player if we hold any hope of top 4 or winning a cup, we mock the rs for not having the balls to phase out gerrard whilst we have Osman playing in every game last season, kinda ironic

when i came on here and said we looked really short with the pre season nearly over, you get the idiots saying things like relegation ? someone come on and justify that 45mins.Yes i know it's about getting some miles in your legs, and mirallas and lukaku are not playing but other prem teams are beating
Anyone got a comment re Baines?
all the guys that went with England seem out of it .At least ross picked up second half, he was awful 1st half. Bainsey looks rubbish at the minute but he will come good.

You say deserved, however no one point out when he plays well or the moments he's produced that have won us games. Villa away last season.

GOT needs a villain, someone who they can blame for us not reaching the dizzy heights. This place even turned on Cahill before he left.

I'm not saying applaud players who are under performing, but this place can be very unforgiving of players and further short sighted.

Hibbert was poor last night, yes, but it's pre season. PRE SEASON. He's going to be the league cup left back to take the heat off Coleman who can't play every game. Osman will come on for the last 15-20 against the better teams and possibly start against the minnows of the league. He's tidy in possession and has a goal or two in him (Fulham at home, villa away).

They are squad players who have been great servants. Throw in the fact that they bring the family feel to the club which keeps the key players at the club, as McCarthy has said this week, and you've got 2 players worthy of short term contracts.

A few good things from last night.Gibbo looks very fit and want's to lead.Besic looks a bargin,Buy this notiio from celta looks class but was against a pub player.2nd half the penny dropped that pre season is about hard work not strolling.
