Much improved performance, led by the midfield 3 who shown a level of intensity which had lacked in previous few games. Iwobi and Onana in particular impressed. All 3 goals were very good team goals with the 2nd particularly pleasing starting from our own box

I can’t remember us scoring three better goals in 90 minutes, ever.

The first one was joyous because it showed Dom back to his sharpest. Pure strength and force of will.

The second one was unreal. Broke the press, shifted the ball at real speed, used the space and the right players at the right time.

The third was just the cherry on the cake. A goal from a side brimming with confidence, which is fairy remarkable given the run of three defeats.

All round, an excellent performance. Probably our best under Lampard.

Probably our best for the past 3-4 managers

The really interesting thing about this goal despite being sexy on the eye, is look at the triangles, ive been saying it for weeks, we need to better support the offensive players - by that i mean their has to be an outlet to give and receive the ball, the triangle has to constantly move to penetrate - in this case the tirangle is McNeill, Maupay and Iwobi.

Look at the video and the triangle, McNeill has two out-balls and Iwobi and Maupay are creating the triangle. The defenders have a decision to make whether to track and cover Maupay or Iwobi or close McNeill, this indecision creates the space and their is an overload of options that creates the chance. This is what ive been banging on about - about support play, creating outball triangles, creating options and overloads.

This is what we must do, if we are playing this philosophy, that goal is a perfect example.
