Any thoughts on what the line-up will be for this one since most already played 45 and it'll be just as hot?

My guess is we'll see a different GK and Heitinga won't play since he went (almost) the full 90 in Philly. Same with Seamus or Neville?

I expect Anichebe to get time here and if Osman is better him too. Arteta with another 45 and the appearance of Fellaini?

With DC's defense, no way. I think we break out. Everton 4 - DC 1.

It's a pre-season friendly.

The result is teetering on the brink of complete irrelevance.

For many reasons, as well. Some of them we saw yesterday; the American teams being a lot fitter than us and also being used to the climate. Plus Anichebe was injured so we never had a chance anyway.

I do know Felli won't be playing, as Moylez said so, and he said Ossie is doubtful. Hopefully Apostolos, Gueye and Barkley get some game time.

Oh I don't care about the score, just making a prediction. Aka, I think we bang some in. I'd like the guys to be scoring some goals on the way to playing better competition. Confidence booster for the forwards.

That's actually a very good point. I bet Maggy's goals against Bury gave him a boost.

I'd love to see one of those Vellios 30 yarders rip the net, like.

Don't sound so surprised. :D

wscottl just posted in the other thread that Tim Howard will be on the pitch for this match. Wonder if MLS put in a bit of a pissed off phone call. It was hard to see Tim missing US soil time anyway. He's usually up for those games. If that's the case we see him for 45 then Mucha.

It will be very familiar to Tim - he last played in RFK just a month ago against Jamaica where he could have basically pitched a lawnchair in front of goal.

I guess it highlights how small our squad is that we've had a few injuries and now we've only just got a full side. The major issue for me from the Philly game is the midfield. We need to find a way of working as a unit where we're able to get the ball forward more easily. I'd maybe go for this:

_________Mucha
Neville Jagielka Distin Baines
_________Rodwell
__Gueye Cahill Bily Arteta
________Beckford

Arteta has done well either on the left or in the middle. Bily only did anything in the middle, so lets keep Mikel on the left. Beckford needs a goal for his confidence and Cahill could do with sharpness too. As for subs, we could switch to 4-4-2 with Vellios partnering Beckford. How about trying Barkley from the right too? He'll never get a game in the middle in the Prem.

2-1 to everton, davies sneaks behind everton's defense, dc give up a silly headed goal, then one of everton's subs scores a screamer.

That formation would be f'n boss.

To keep track: Injured and not playing: Arteta, Anichebe, Fellaini

I was trying to save Coleman because we know what he can do. With Arteta injured, how about this then?
