Interesting to point out that Lille where the top seeded team in our group and ended up finishing last!

He's boss that Origi though, lad.....

Previously thought about 20,000 but in view of the cold, more like 17,000 I'd guess now.
Well your first estimate was pretty much spot on.

Personally, I didn't think the turn out or atmosphere was too bad taking everything into consideration.

Although, the attendance did seem less at times as I sit exactly in the middle of my row and there had nobody else to my left.

For me (0k I'm a glutton for punishment ) I quite enjoyed the game, went not expecting a great deal so wasn't disappointed, just wanted to see how are youngsters would get on. Thought Garbutt looked the real deal was very impressed probably needs to work on the defensive side of his game a little but that will come with experience. Mcaleny did him self no favours last night and at 22 as someone else pointed out his future may lie elsewhere. Browning done ok looked what he is a CB playing FB would've liked to have seen him play CB. Kone I thought had an impressive game considering the amount of time he's been out the game and will be a welcome addition to the first team squad. Ledson after a quiet 1st half I thought grew into the game in the 2nd half, started to demand the ball more, knocked some nice long balls wide which to me showed he was growing more confident as the game went on and for me it wont be long before he's a permanent member of the 1st team squad. I've left Dowell to the last though he didn't do a great deal last night but I like the look of this lad, done a couple of nice little passes around the corner that other players just did not read so possibly made them look like nothing passes, made a lovely run into the box undetected and maybe should've scored but may be panicked a little. Watched him against Sunderland U21s the other week and look a bright prospect for the future, I would be interested to hear what any of the lads ( Swisso and Eggs I think go a lot ) that watch the U21s what they think of this lad.

....@Swisso is the authority but I think you summed things up well. I've posted my view on young Dowell, clearly a talented footballer who is highly rated within the camp. He appears to lack a bit of pace and running power but he's still filling his frame so I suspect that physical improvement will happen in time. Promising.

Me too following the screening of the U21 against Sunderland. Was interested to see how they'd cope against more experienced opponents.

Generally, I think we have potentially a lot of talent coming through with a lot of the lads on show last night still very young (Ledson, Dowell, Jones briefly). Senior side may be struggling a bit at the moment but the future is bright especially if we keep picking up the odd potential like Galloway

I watch the whole game , which was a boring one. Agree that Garbutt is Premier League class, and he will get his chance next season. Remember that Martinez is considering develop Baines into a DM , like Bayern Munich did with Lahm. Oviedo is more versatile and can play LM.

Thought Ledson was disappointing (but still very young) ,as was McAleny. And Robles is terrible. Kone showed that he is on his way back to fight for a place in starting XI.
