How can you rate Yakubu the same as McFadden and Osman?

Yakubu was abysmal. Spent half the game on his arse and the rest of it lumbering about. At least Faddy got stuck in, ran and assisted the goal.

Osman was fairly decent as well.

He had nothing to work with and still managed to get a few shots on goal, which granted Faddy did as well. IMO those two could make up a good striker pair.

Have to disagree on that part sorry Dane. Thought McFadden and Osman had more impact than Yakubu - although admittedly that wasn't hard. I think a fan in the Lower Gwladys QQ seat 59 had more of an impact than Yakubu.

Anichebe showed Yakubu what he should have been doing last night.

Wessels for me, cracking save!, watch out Tim Howard. Everyone else was a disgrace (maybe a bit harsh but I'm still emotionally scarred from that performance) they made us look like amateurs ffs, Dock their wages and make them go to bed with no tea.

I voted Wessels. He made some crucial saves. Without him we really would be up a certain creek without a paddle.

Lescott and Big Vic also deserve a mention. Vic did everything that Yakubu should have been doing. I'd like to see him start on Sunday.

I'll go for Wessels as well. He made some good saves and his distribution from the back was short and fast most of the time. I've said before but I don't think it's particularly fair for Howard to come straight back in when Wessels is performing so well. He's in posession now until he makes a booboo for me.

well ive slept on it and hoped i would be less devastated today , but im not.

i am actually ashamed of the team.

hibbert , neville and carsley should be dropped

aj , yakubu , osman and mcfadden need a major kick up the backside

moyes needs a damn good shouting at.

the whole team need a hell of a lot more time on the training pitch.

the manager needs to throw what ever plans he has for the team out the window and start from scratch with his coaching tactics and squad selection becouse his current 'ideas' are not worth a piss.

last nights game felt like losing to a unibond league team. it really was that pathetic and one of the worse results goodison park has ever seen.

that away goal for the mentalists is going to be gold dust in the next leg. i actually thought we would romp them last night and then get a 0-0 draw in the away leg. i still expect a 0-0 draw too.

if i was the chairman i would be ripping moyes a new chocolate wizzwaz today and would be telling him that the way the team play and there performances are simply not good enough and a vast improvement is needed.
with the amount of money spent and the players at our disposal we should be much better than we are and the blame is firmly at the managers feet .

if he plays hibbert at right back and nev and carsley in the middle in our next match it would show what a complete narrow minded cock moyes really is.it would prove to me that he is totally devoid of ideas.

with the exception of cahill , gravesen and arteta our midfeild is a complete mess.

osman , carsley , neville , pienaar , vidarsson ,da silva , vdm... all subs at best and are not good enough quality to be releid upon as first choice .they offer nothing and atleast 5 of these 7 players need shipping out and replacing with better quality !

last night everton were given every chance to beat a poor team. home match , attacking formation , millions of pounds worth of talent , 2 penalties and a 2 player advantage .we were pathetic and an embarresment to english football.

and i stand by my point that our problems are due to a pathetic midfeild selection and poor coaching.
without these 2 problems being addressed if doesnt matter how good our defenders or are strikers are as they will be fighting a losing battle.we will concede and we wont score many.

we shoot ourselves in the foot before we even step out onto the pitch.

Evil quoting but.... getting "stuck in" and "running" are the very things that keep English football from moving on to the next level.

Great corner for the goal though, Yakubu feeds on chances, he needs chances to score...

Its early days and we have a lot of new players trying to gel, hey... least we didn't get beat 4-1.....

Uh, if Wessels were American, he wouldn't even be 4th choice for our National Team and Timmy is our undisputed number one right now. And we're talking about a country while not top drawer regarding outfield players, has produced quality goalkeepers on a regular basis.

Howard gets his place back when he's healthy.

In addition, even with Wessels performances, I'd say that the defense probably feels a bit more confident with Timmy behind them.

Bit harsh on the keeper, I thought he did very well and made an excellent save. Can't be blamed for the goal.

Howard has his problems too you know. He goes down to quickly and tries to save a goal whilst on his knees, and his positioning was very much in question for some goals last season.

Name 4 American goalkeepers that are better then Wessels. I can only think of 2 at the moment and thats Friedel and Howard.

Kasey Keller is a joke.

Keller certainly isn't what he used to be but he isn't a joke.

Guzan for Chivas USA and Cannon for the LA Galaxy. Don't know if you've seen 'em play but they can do the business.

What? We've seen Wessels play a grand total of two matches and all of a sudden, he's our answer at a position we don't have a problem with?

No thanks but I'll stick with Howard as the number one and feel very comfortable that we have an able backup which we haven't had since I've been supporting Everton.

Wessels certainly hasn't put a foot wrong thus far though, I'm with Bruce on the subject of keepers where as if you've waited for your chance and you've played alright then you should keep the shirt. Granted we haven't seen enough of him but his pedigree is fantastic he also looked very assured and quick at distributing the ball out when he recieves it.

I'm not saying he's better then Howard all I'm saying is Howard has a dislocated finger the keeper we've got inbetween the sticks is turning out some good performances lets see what he can do properly.

As for Guzan and Cannon I've heard of the first, never the second but both ply their trade in the American leagues, I'll admit the standard of football from the MLS is getting better but to say that they are definitely better then a keeper that has performed well against the champions of the premier league and in european competition is a bit rash in my opinion.
