Only one side lives up the names of their squad.. and punishes people back home with Wood (en) implements, Burns and Will Lock them up in Maximin Security Prisons..

Finally a bit of good fortune: viz 30 minutes of decent football.. but not before the uneven handed Pawson (who clearly couldn't see anything wrong with several Newcastle lunges - one yellow card - but did become officious over Gordon's protest at Krafth's nasty one. Funny too, after turning Allan's lunge (cynical if not violent) from yellow to red he saw nothing wrong with a Newcastle player threatening to take half a dozen Blues outside for a quick fight.. (in fact I don't even think he saw it and nor did Jack "Two Suppers" Simmons running the line on the Bullens Road side.)

All in all a tough tough game and credit to the defence for keeping Newcastle at arms length and for the sheer joy of the move and finish for the winner..

Convinced that Pickford’s absence actually benefitted us; the barcodes always seem to get into his head and he seems so frenetic at the best of times. I imagine that atmosphere coupled with their away fans would’ve led to a fair few rushes of blood with catastrophic consequences.
