If the same players keep losing (regardless of formation) surely we have to make some changes. I know it won't happen, but how about:

Start: Pickford - Patterson, Keane, Godfrey, Myko - Allan, VdB, - Gordon, Alli, El Ghazi - DCL (if fit, or Rondon).

Bench: Begovic, Coleman, Branthwaite, Doucs, Iwobi, Richy, Gray.

Hard to bench Richy, but he hasn't scored when starting for a while, seems to do ok off the bench with something to prove. Doucs brings energy but not suited to a Lampard set-up as loses possession far too often. Gray not fit and again could have an impact off the bench. Whether El Ghazi should even been a Blue or not is questionable, but he does have a goal in him and brings some extra height.

Weird to think that would leave Holgate, Kenny (suspended), Mina (injured), Gomes, Delph (injured), Davies (injured), Tosun, possibly Rondon (depending on DCL) and a few promising youngsters like Dobbin not in the squad. It is clear we lack quality rather than quantity and oddly I think some of those would probably get a starting position for some of the teams around us - especially Burnley.

Whatever Frank goes for, he needs to do something different, as can't keep picking the same players who have suffered four straight defeats with no goals scored.

Pickford
Patterson Holgate Branthwaite Godfrey

Doucoure Allan Gomes
Gray Richardson Iwobi (Gordon looked shattered on sat and needs a break)

We've come to the point where we have to go for it. 1 point in home games won't be enough considering we are nowhere near winning away from home.

Its a must win for us but not for them anymore. If the ground is rocking under the lights we could do this!!! 1-1
As true as that may be, they will still be just as ready for this match as they have been for any other. They would absolutely cream their pants if they were to win this one, especially given the VDB nonsense that they keep spouting.
Fact is, that since the end of the January window, they've become a very, VERY compact, tight unit, and they have brought in the right additions to their squad.

Take the point. We need any we can get now. I don't believe we have the players capable of piling any pressure for a winning goal in the later stages of any game now. Newcastle back-line is looking solid now.

Have to go for a win. I’d rather go down fighting than go down as we’re playing at the minute. As it stands we’re going down like meek [Poor language removed] cats with no fight or gusto, gotta start having a go at them especially with 10 mins left.
