I would say some of our best results were when Gibson/Feeney played together, the Foulds/Feeney combination results were not so good, particularly the 4-0 defeat to the RS. I see Gibson continuing as a CB , but would likely get his first opportunity as a LB...cheers. Interesting that, given how impressive the Feeney/Foulds partnership is. Not sure what that means for Gibson’s future, although let’s not forget Kenny came through the ranks as a CB. Young Gibson looks a bull of a man, perhaps that physicality lends itself to CB.
While Gibson is a sturdy lad he lost his England LB place at the World Cup to the even bigger Panzo, who in my view wasn’t as good an attacking LB as Gibson but had other attributes they wanted. Still only 17 of course, and look how long it took the England U17 Euro winner Kenny to break through. The interesting thing is that for England he was a left back...is he not great in an attacking sense?
